Or Kubricks. I wish those dumb Bearbricks didn't replace them, it's always just one base figure with millions of recolors/redecos but no accessories despite that the hands are shaped to hold something. And unlike Lego minifigs the base Bearbrick figure doesn't even look good.

It was some interview with the head designer on why they stopped using smilies in City, Creator, and Modular Buildings. The interview was probably on brickset or something, can't remember.

Kids didn't like how incompatible the classic smilies were with the heads in their Lego collection due to the lack of white pupils.
