>>7390140Actually, a couple of joints is pretty expensive. Molding all those seperate pieces and then having it assembled adds up.
But then, so do all those crazy amount of paint apps. As someone mentioned, his figures were basically molded in black and every little detail is painted on. That's basically how it was back in the day too.
So it basically evens out... you either got a crazy amount of paint or crazy amount of articulation. BUUUT, that Skullsplitter you posted has both. It's a very poseable figure and has an insane amount of detail.
Also, the guy you're talking to is pretty dumb
>>7390162McFarlane basically works on a wave budget like Hasbro. They reuse molds and cut paint apps, cut accessories, etc so that every wave costs about the same amount. So if a newly molded figure is released in a wave, other figures in that wave will have cut backs. This doesn't always apply, like with movie waves, which get higher than normal orders from the stores.
So unlike Hasbro, McFarlane is almost entirely newly molded stuff every single wave. So other figures may have features cut, like with the CoD figures only coming with a single accessory, yet feature barbell joints at multiple points and Revoltech-type joints elsewhere. With the Color Tops, some of them were McStatues, but others featured articulation that you later saw with the Destiny and CoD waves.
Every single wave had complex paint apps you'll never see on an ML (except Toy Biz's) and is basically as good or better than NECA's more expensive figures. Sure, the QC wasn't as good with the early waves, but that was fixed later.
So to say he was misleading people is just shows you never really bothered to look at the line and ignore how everyone else does their lines.
