To some people, they don't want to reward others for creating a product without permission of the original creator.
They don't want to reward bad behavior

This is literally why generations got so huge. Hasbro realized that the older collectors had stopped buying the mainline figures. Animated and Prime were underperforming while CHUG wasn't. Because people were buying the good toys.
Hasbro can't make changes based on what you buy if you aren't buying from them. Buying a knockoff Omega Supreme doesn't convince them to make an omega supreme. Despite being the first base former in G1 and despite 3rd parties making them, we got Metroplex, Fort Max, and Trypticon before him.
If you don't care about Hasbro's ability to produce good products, then by all means, buy whatever you want.
But plenty of us do.
That, and some of us actually own IP ourselves and are sensitive to the plight of creators.
