I wanted to like this figure since I was actually looking forward to Hasbro's Overwatch line, but Tracer is the only one so far that really leaves a lot to be desired. I'm actually a bit annoyed since Tracer is one of my favorites and I feel like they did her dirty especially when she's the mascot.

Why do people keep shitting on McFarlane Toys? I get it if they were still keeping at it with the statueshit they're pumping out for a time, but their previous work on stuff like Halo and now Fortnite shows that they can make great action figures when they actually give a shit.

I don't get the weird loyalist mindset to companies. I'll dip into Hasbro, Figma, Revo, Mattel, whatever looks good. That said all companies have put out shit figures, idk why people are afraid to admit it.
Do some of you people have stock invested in the company or something? The Siege line was looking good, Studio Series is overall good, the Marvel Legends shown were a bit too heavy on the movie stuff as usual but nice, the new Power Rangers line seem promising, BUT, the Overwatch are fucking awful.

Hasbro has been making 6 inch figures for more than a decade now and with 3D printing, face scans and 3d models for references, they have a lot more resources to put out really good figures at a decent price point.

I'm only really interested in the Power Rangers line but what they have shown so far is really fucking good next to what Bandai America was producing the last 10 years. More importantly, the fact that the children's figure line is the same scale as the collector oriented line shows they understand how much PR fans value a universal scale. Even if Lightning never gets to every single Ranger or villain, there will always exist a huge selection for displays and stuff.

The one point Legacy has that Lightning doesn't are the ball jointed wrists, as opposed to swivel wrists. Lightning has butterfly joints. Then Lightning also has mid torso ball peg and ab crunch vs Legacy's ab crunch and waist rotation. Otherwise they're the same, I believe.

Though you started a discussion of articulation, Lightning also has better paints, more accessories, better proportions, etc.

Literally the only pro Legacy has is the ball joint wrists but Bandai fucked them up hard. Only Green Ranger had swappable hands and it was a total nightmare ttying to swap them.

Can we go back to Classics/universe/RotF era transformers? I know some of the figures were trash but for the vast majority that weren't they had something Siegelets or SS fags have. Its call.ed SOUL, which the Hasfags lack due to liking being buttraped by Hasbro & there endless rehashes of designs we already have superior figures of. my guess is that since most female characters have relatively thin arms, they're afraid to do complex joints on them cause they think the odds of limb breakage would go up

Hasbro doesn't use face printing like Bandai does and Hasbro (mattel and various other companies) had been using the same technilogy for almost a decade before Bandai started using it to print a face.

Hasbro actually copied DCC, because both still use spray apps for key features like the eyes, eyebrows, mouth, and hair. Whereas Bandai just uses the print to replace all that.
Both Hasbro and DCC use it as shading and weathering for their figures, since the print job is very low resolution and only works for areas that don't require high detail.
So you get near perfect looking shading and highlights, instead of a low quality 70s comicbook face.

MAFEX is btfo-ing SHF in terms of human actor likenesses too. Bandai's cape and star wars figures have almost all been off the mark. I'm far more impressed by their Potter figures than those lines.

They're still good at Bugmen, I'll give them that.

I think the vast majority of Japanese figures are overpriced, but I'm not going to call the great ones shit or call anyone who buys them an idiot... because when they're good, they're good or even great.

Now, is it WORTH paying that money? Maybe, maybe not. That's up to you to decide.
If i like something enough, i will pay up though. There are times where I'll actually pay scalper scum $80 for an ML that sold for $8 back in the day. Same shit with Japanese toys. These figures are what i like and if i believe there's no to little chance of getting a better figure, it's worth the price regardless if it's overpriced as fuck.

The price and budget went up and they got Warden to stop being fucktarded with his sticker fetish. The weathering on everything is almost as bad but that doesn't cost nearly as much apparently. Not having combiner crap integrated in helps too, but that couldn't be helped on the actual combiner characters.

Yeah shame on GSC for focusing on making everyone in their most iconic appearance instead of making silly Summer Games or Christmas versions of characters first. Not to mention that Blackwatch Reyes is probably the worst figure they showed off of the bunch. Hell the other non-default skin they showed off is just a repaint of Ana's main skin with a new facemask instead of something like Captain Amari, which means regular Ana is probably gonna show up in Wave 2 or 3.

Neither of them are perfect.
