So what's the deal with English versions of the Pokedex?

I decided to grab a bunch of them suddenly and when looking into the more recent ones I see the Unova one is working off technology the original 90s toy had and the two most recent weren't even released over here.

Did they just not sell as well and we're doomed to get cheaper versions of the Japanese ones? Will there even be any more released over here?

I have the 3 d-arts kanto starters by now, but I like the proportions on the wicked cool toys charizard and blastoise, the articulations seems to be just right for the price (not meaning QC would take us somewhere close to the actual pictures). Blaziken looks great also (for a statue).

Roleplay toys don't move as well in a lot of cases and the prices on the nicer dexes are probably too high for the american market, because once you get to like 40-60 dollars, most kids are just gonna buy a video game instead.

Oh yeah I had some of these, like the Blastoise figure and the Butterfree plush. I remember being kind of dissapointed i got that cause i thought it was a lame pokemon. The plushes came inside cheap pokeballs. I recall having a mini Gameboy Color toy, specifically a purple one, it wasn't electronic but i think it could have little cards or carts inserted in there. Was that a BK toy as well?

Yeah, 1999 was essentially a promo for the first Pokemon movie.

2000 had mini gameboy color looking things that you could put "cartridges" into of the Johto Pokemon.

I think after that the toys went to Wendy's for mid-Gen 3 and then they went back to BK for Sinnoh.

After DP all of the toys have been at McDonalds.

I guess it wouldn't make sense to expect more articulation from Mew, maybe ball pegged joints instead. Charizard looks quite nice, and I assume Mewtwo will be pretty simple as well. Hopefully he has knees of some sort. Also hope this line continues beyond just the movie, I feel like it could easily be a long lasting and successful line.

Which line is the 2015 one? I don't think it's the first one, Tomy used to make scaled Pokémon figures back in 2000's but I'm not sure if they still do. IIRC you had to mail order Wailord due to its enormous size compared to everything else from that line that was sold at stores and those were mostly tiny.

they actually have re-released the Johto balls in smaller sets, but they only have 2-3 Johto balls per set. They're quite expensive buying them individually from ebay too.

In a perfect world I'd prefer if Tomy got the license back. I started collecting Poké figures around the time they were unveiling their super articulated line, and they were doing amazing stuff. Judging from WCTs vision, it's disappointing to think that the new starters from Gen 8 may never get decent figures like Tomys Incineroar and Co.

Because a big license like Pokemon isn't something you should hold grudges about, especially if given the chance to get it back. Tomy is still loosely involved when WCT was named the master toy license holder, in that they could make accessories like their Z-Ring for the upcoming games.

The last days of Tomy produced some really good Pokemon toys, and it is really disappointing that the line isn't continuing whether through Tomy Japan or even in essence via WCT. Comparing their both Snorlax (some people have different opinions but I thought he was made incredibly well and smartly) figures, or Incineroar figures (arguably Tomy's strongest release) and it's just night and day. I still hope that they'll keep improving, but it looks like what we're getting is what we'll get.

I also wouldn't be too opposed to Mattel getting it. With DC gone, they would likely treat Pokemon (and JP/JW) as their biggest "boy's toy" franchise and put a lot of effort into it. I think they could put out some solid figures, and if that 6" line ever happens, that Blue, as well as their released Indominus, could potentially be indications of the kind of articulation some bigger Pokemon might get.

Hey fellas, /tg/ here.

Thinking about creating a custom set of rules to make a playable kind of Pokémon Tabletop Combatgame. Think warhammer, but with less figures, simulating a Pokémon Battle rather than a full-scale war of course.

It would include movement, how attacks work, and even enviromental rules.

The focus would be 2 on 2 or 3 on 3 (1 on 1 would be a bit boring in my opinion)

And playable with just your standard Tomy Pokémon Figures (and similar scales) and some good old 6 sided dice.

Would anyone in here interested in actually playtesting this?

I used a dot of loctite and rolled the joint to add an additional layer so that it's spread out. Waited about 15 minutes and it made it nice and snug so neither of them flop around at all but still can hold poses and maintain it pretty well. Shame i missed out on the OG greninja just for the sake of it.

The only in-game Pokeballs we are missing now from the Bandai sets are the Sport, Park, Cherish and Dream balls. Do you think we will eventually see them? I think the Cherish and Dream balls will for sure be in the next set after the Mewtwo ball set, but I'm not sure if they'll do the Sport or Park balls.
