2) You've clearly never been around little girls (though that's probably a good thing, let's be honest) because otherwise you would know that little girls frequently make up the wildest, most dramatic, most ridiculous stories for Barbies. And they can include everything from dramatic deaths to war to radiation poisoning and whatever else they've absorbed from the world around them. I already know my nieces would probably use the prosthetic leg Barbie to make up a dramatic way she lost her leg and got it replaced with a robot one by a scientist character from whatever movie they're into at the time. The dramatic, bizarre and often dark way that little kids--especially little girls--play with Barbie is enough of a phenomenon to get studied and researched.
