just go to ross and look for one of the dozens of left over tmnt kart sets. The tmnt line is pretty cheap and easy to get a hold of online and in stores in my experience. Even amazon has them for relatively cheap.

Go to Burlington Coat factory and see if they still have $50 technodromes leftover. Take one of the turles with brown shell and put the green shell donnie bands onto it. I have all the sets except the last 2 battle packs with the Rock soldiers and Samurai Leo. Never saw them in stores. I keep checking the discount store loike Ross, TJmaxx hoping they turn up all the unsold inventory since big store didn't buy them. I see them for $35 on amazon, so $50 plus you get a technodrome seems like a better deal.

i bought some ko mega and had to wait around 2 weeks but I knew before and during the ordering process that it could take a month or more but I guess I was lucky. prices were cheap but so were the parts. i mentioned in the thread before that they are good for spare parts and custom painting. I haven't tried yet but the type of plastic used for these figs is a cheaper rubbery quality so i am expecting a lot of trial and error. the face sculpts are diabolically poor, one are 2 from my pack of 8 would be ok but need a complete paint over to see. guns are ok as one piece parts, makes for painting easier i guess but they do need it as it lacks any contrast or interest, same goes with the other accessories.

When CoD was introduced with improved articulation they made them a bit bigger to accommodate more part swapping, and were potentially planning on doing the same with Halo since it was received well for CoD.

People who had been collecting Mega Bloks Halo sets before CoD was introduced threatened to stop buying if the scale changed and made their old figures incompatible. So Halo was kept at its regular scale and was just given improved articulation and customization.

Unfortunately Halo scale has become the default scale for most of Mega's other lines, too.

You mean...kinda like what already happened when they shifted from the old Halo molds to the new? I get that people can only take upheaval so many times before they riot, but dang, I would gladly have started again for larger and more detailed Halo figs.

It has to do with the introduction of super articulation. Halo figs have basically always been this size, and when mega announced s.a. for CoD they polled the community and a lot of collectors REEEEE'd at the suggestion of making Spartans bigger. So they developed essentially 2 different scales for the figures.

That's the lie they told to justify making a lower quality product aimed at children and the casual buyer.

The CoD scale, which is a higher quality product and thus more expensive to produce, was intended for the more discerning taste of the adult collector.

Compare the hands of Halo figures to those of CoD figures. Halo figs have thinner hands. Halo figs require less plastic to make. Less plastic = cheaper to produce, yet more likely to break after repeated use. I've had it happen to several Assassin Creed figures.

That's because Assassins Creed was poorly handled and the accessories were too big for any of mega's hands. Try it by putting an AC flintlock in a CoD hand, it will break the hand, I know this from experience. I've broken more CoD hands than Halo hands.

Halo, MOTU, and MCX Heroes are more appealing to kids and casuals, and they are smaller scale. Not a coincidence.

I would argue against that. From what I've seen, it seems CoD hits better with kids because they're like "new and improved toy soldiers" (as well as being Call of Duty). The main market for Halo is Halo fans.

I bought several Assassin Creed figures when they first came out, and barely used them. I then stored them in ziplock bags for a couple years, got them out again recently, and neck pegs and hands were breaking left and right. I ended up throwing away half of them and selling the rest.

So how do you explain the necks breaking off so easily then?

I've never had it happen to CoD or Destiny figures, even though I've had some of them for just as long and played with them more frequently.

Welk, I have with a new COD set. I bought the urban strike troop pack and every neck ripped off in a day. Ive had cod hands break too. Ive gotten destiny figures with warped feet. It happens.

Haven't been there in a couple weeks, the pics are from the first time I spotted the stuff. That second pic and this one were still about the same during my last visit, there were piles of the skeleton packs but as I mentioned, AssCreed troop packs were gone. Shipping to the US depends on whether you want them MISB or opened and bubblemailed, the cost difference could be substantial. Not sure when I'll be able to visit the place, thursday might be the earliest.

Not all. I only did a wash on that guy and on pic related. It’s the first time I’ve done it, as experiments, but it’s clear the sculpt is really good.

The brightness may be because the part are just molded in that color. It would add to the cost to add washes. The first Halo figures had them, but when the part count rose, mega stopped doing them.

Happy little find of a Hellboy at a TRU today, and overhearing a nice little moment with a obvious He-Man fan dad finding the Man-at-Arms and Evil-Lyn with his boys; THEN finding the last two Hellboys and the T800s. Kinda wonder how he'll react if he ever gets to see that Castle Grayskull set hahaha!

Also was hoping you don't mind me asking what set/figure, would be the best to look for to give Hellboy a trench coat? Seen a few pics of it in past threads, but cant seem to find the named figure when I look back a bit. Thanks for any help!

With some extras of picking up a Dollarama Hayabusa, and happening across a few Stormbound blinds in a Dollar Tree. For the latter extra, kicking myself I hadn't been lurking here more lately; if other Ontario anons had talked about these showing up. There had been two boxes of them, but it'd been picked clean aside from a couple Grunts, Spartan Hunter, and the Air Assault I was surprised was still there. Really would've liked to get the ODST really, but at the $1.41(after tax) price and I would've been happy with a squad of UNSC Marines.

A combination of a couple of factors:

1. One of the guys in charge of the He-Man license at Mattel has a huge hard-on for Scareglow (hence him getting figures right off the back in just about every modern MOTUC line)

2. Merman and Triklops require unique molding

3. Scareglow can be made simple by repainting a blank body Megablok figure and tossing in a cape.

Hey guys!
I am currently at war with the Cylons and of course I need troops to battle against the unending swarm of mechanized NPC bots.

Hasbro has decided to go sadly retro this year. Star Wars is utterly useless and devoid of awesome. There are no Gi-Joes or Cobra troops. It will be a year before General McFarlane will have DC warriors available.

So I turn my eyes towards Halo and Terminators and possibly grab some Masters of the Universe. A collection of these warriors lead by Hellboy could be instrumental in turning the tide in the pivotal battle to save New Atlantis.

Is the company going to increase the Terminator output?
Are Borgs still available?
Are Halo designs reused and repainted or do they have a shelf life?

Any info on new troops would be appreciated!

We don’t know. There was a Terminator Genysis line, you can still find a lot of sets on Amazon for good prices

Should be. Check out Walmart and such

I don’t get this question, but Halo has a ton of repaints and a ton of new armor designs coming out constantly.

If you’re a new comer to Mega, I can give you 3 tips:
1. It’s a slippery slope. Once you start you can’t stop.
2. Mega has terrible marketing, so don’t expect news. We learn about stuff mostly from Amazon, Toywiz and Brickseek postings.
3. Mega stuff either shelfwarms forever or disappears to never be seen again, so I would advise you if you like something, get it when you see it.

Borgs and the rest of the trek line is still dirt cheap on amazon. MOTU is in Walmart stores now, and decently affordable. As for terminators, secondary market prices are kind of ass, but 8nce in a blue moon the genisys sets will pop up for a decent price. For 20 bucks though you can buy four T-800's from the MCX line which are in really great numbers right now, most of the Walmart I've gone to are stuffed to the brim with hellboys,T-800s,and Kratos. Halo shit receives the most support next to the COD line and can be stock piled and army built for cheap. Good luck amassing your forces anon, and welcome to the MCX-army!

okay guys so this is a big ask and ive posted in all the block related boards, so when i was a kid maybe around 1999 - 2004 there was a line of military block toy sets that had vehicles like stealth fighters, and apaches, and there was a tank, they were all a few pieces, like the tank was just 1 piece covered in studs, the stealth fighter was the body, ejector seat, cockpit glass, 2 wings and the back 2 wings were 1 piece.

The figures were similar sizes to the modern Mega bloks figs, but had much less and wierd articulation like the elbows would spin instead of bend?

there were deser themes/ camo themes and like a black and sliver almost spec ops theme, te bad guys wore red i remember a ninja guy , and a bulkier strong hulk like ginger man who had bigger arms and body than all the other figs.

i think each set had an action feature like the shitty picture i drew was a blue Gray metallic square base that had 4 'doors' that could open it up, but the action feature was a black foam bullet shooter that loooked like a joy stick?

thats all i can really remember, but there was a red flag in each set that had the name of the company or theme that made them, it definetly wasnt lego, and ive looked at all the past mega bloks sets and dont recognise any of them, they were almost like a GI joe, lego cross over?

if anyone knows the name of the theme or also remembers any what other sets could you get?

I had a um.. Hive guy (I dunno my Destiny I just got em because it was cheap and they look creepy) who was actually missing his head.
I actually bought two sets and that was the only problem.
And they replaced the figure.
Also had a flame thrower guy replaced as the flame thrower was borked.

Sorry it's a bit late, fellas, other stuff came up.

Basically, the circled stuff is what I actually used, but if you have 'Straya-tier bandwidth, here's a written description:

YURI's lower legs and one of the shoulders of his EOD vest.

SPECIALIST SPECTRE's vest, upper arms, thigh armor, and grenade belt

The bug-eyed gas-mask soldier from the Urban Strike Squad, with basically the front half of the face cut off so the rebeather could sit flush, and the top half of the head cut off so the "Enemy Soldier" helmet would sit low enough to match the animation model. I don't have exact measurements, so just wing it.

The Rebreather from the HazOp Specialist or the one in the Urban Strike Squad was just guesswork, just cut it off at an angle to get the "nose" piece, along with the front of the unit. Trim them so it can sit flush with the front of the head.

Also, one of the "Enemy Soldier" backpacks

Paints were all Citadel paints and washes:

Abaddon Black
Mechanicus Standard Grey
Gothor Brown
Zandri Dust
Nuln Oil "Gloss"
Seraphim Sepia

The eyes were done VERY carefully with Blood For The Blood God

A couple coats of paint or clear coat should help with that. Boiling can cause more shrinkage than would be helpful.

Yeah, from my experience, the harder plastic tends to shrink with less than boiling water. The heat tends to make warpages worsen.

I have the 3. If they are all the same price, I’d go with the BTR, easly.

1. The jet looks cool, but is not very interactive. You build it and put it on a shelf and that’s it.
2. The BTR is legit flawless. Excellent vehicle, good figures and good terain pieces.
3. The Bradley is the second best. It’s smaller than the other 2. The threads are always a concern that they may break. It does have the best 3 figures of the 3 sets.

i hear ya but with eh harrier jump jet its modelled after i was expecting some basic features like the jet nozzles being able to go from vertical to horizontal and landing gear at the end of the wings. anyhow. if i do see it eventually marked wayyy down (wishful thinking) i might just get it but for now its not as a priority as my other 2 choices

The Harrier jump jet has rotating nozzles, all its control surfaces can be adjusted, you can attach all sorts of weaponry to the hardpoints and the retractable landing gear works so perfectly its hard to believe. Mega COD aircraft are some of the best brick sets ever; the anti armour helicopter and strike fighter exemplify this.

Wish I owned that fucking Btr though.

I’m the dude that made the initial recommendation and all those points are correct.

My preference is having sets that are more like playsets, the BTR and Bradley both open up and you can store figures in there, you can take it outside for pics, both have all these little details.

The Harrier is awesome, the three are awesome, but I feel the jet doesn’t have as much play value as the other 2, hence my comments.

I do love the Harrier and highly recommend it, but again, ranking those particular 3 vehicles, I prefer BTR, Bradley and Harrier in that order.

I just noticed there isn't nearly as many interchangeable female figures as there are males. I only have about 4 female figures in my collection. It's a total sausage fest. I know there's females in the Vikings and Helicopter sets but I'm only interested in the minifigures. Damn.

Mega HAS to realize that there is a huge segment of their fans that love to mix and match figure parts, right? Generic builder packs like that with different genders/ethnicities/body types would be a godsend, it would let me mix up the looks of my squads plus give me new bodies to give my spare gear to.

Walmart has been restocking semi frequently here as well. Mostly heroes and cod, theyve sold their heman but have restocked it twice.

Are there any good sets/methods of doing a sort of hall of armor set up with the Halo minifigs? I tried using one of the stands that came with a Destiny minifig and it didn't seem to work, while that old Infinity Armor Bay set wasn't even made for the interchangeable armor bits.
