So I apparently missed the preorders at like 2 this morning.
Didn't expect this to sell out at Hobbysearch, AmiAmi AND HLJ. Anyone know anywhere else that's a good shot at getting this? I saw that Nippon Yasan site but I'm unfamiliar with the site and the price is considerably higher there.

They added 7000 yens to it since it's sold out everywhere.
They're not reliable anyway, if you ever happen to have an issue with your order, they won't help.

Pretty sure this is because the tamashii guys and the hobby guys compete with each other. When one of them puts out something cool the other side usually wants to put out their own version of it. They're essentially separate companies under the same brand.

Was this your first Bandai night? Most SOCs and MBs sell out within the first 10 minutes.

At this point I'd say check back regularly in case someone cancels their preorder, or camp your favorite site on release day in case they have a copy or 2 to spare (e.g. with box damage).

Well Sentinal released a Shin Getter later, maybe Bandai didn't want to try and compete with that? They both released a Mazinkaiser around the sameish time too, so they may not want to risk it again. We'll get a Shin at some point, it's one of the big ones that hasn't got a SoC yet. It'll happen after we get Black Getter Emporer or whatever with a giant planet sized cape and massive arm blade.

SOCs and MBs have their pre-orders closed within minutes, which is why some people set their alarms to catch Japanese pre-orders right as they open. But yeah like people say, there's always going to be someone backing out of their pre-order and there'll be a few up for grabs on release day.
