Found an old V2 tamagotchi which belonged to someone I know. I replaced the battery and it works but the egg won't hatch.

Have a choice to download or reset however I think it's just 1 option. When pressing it, it takes me back to the previous owners dead tamagotchi. Tried pressing the reset button multiple times but it seems futile.

Can someone help? I've been looking at forums for hours and it's been no luck. Would appreciate it immensely!
