>>7488007Got it working with a pin on this angle, I'll snip it flush with the surface once I do a final print. The rest of the rotation is handled in the shoulder disc's rotation on it's axis. I bought some 3A world war robot hands to use rather than try to make working fingers myself, so when those get in I'll test them out.
>>7488024I think it's possible with enough post-processing (sanding and smoothing) but even if you don't feel you can get the finish you want, you can cast the 3d printed parts in resin if you want to do that. I have a Creality CR-10, it runs about 450-500 dollars depending what version you get. The ability to make a new prototype figure part in 10 minutes while making tweaks is so awesome, I had a joint hole slightly too small, and I opened blender, tweaked it, and exported again, and had a new piece printed up in minutes. It feels like actual magic. You definitely could order your parts printed by a service, but it won't come close to the rapid prototype turnaround time you get having your own.
In fairness though, I didn't get it JUST for toys. I got it as a maker hobbyist in general.
