Anyone got any experience with evolution toy as a brand?

They're making a tekkaman blade series which I want in on especially at the price, problem is I heard the vf2 they made was shithouse unless I got that confused with something else

I just love tekkaman blade ever since the horrible dub of technoman was on tv and I want in on my nostalgia but not if its a fragile shitter nor if I have to chase down older figures (I already have the figma of blade and evil, bit luckluster but maybe I expected too much)

Evolution toy has a mixed-to-bad reputation, but these seem to also be a co-production with company called Future Quest, so they might turn out pretty decent.

I'm just hoping they scale with the Riobot Tekkaman Blade that's gonna be coming out soon myself.

They look very basic too, joints being ball joints and ball hinges, probably why they're so cheap for Evolution. Their stuff is like x2 of what Bandai's would be with similar level of engineering. I don't know about their quality. In fact these look similar to Bandai's Marvel Disk Wars 4 inch figures and they were under 2000 yen maybe?

These are definitely meant to be a toyline for completing the cast and not individual quality. And they'll probably throw in the 15k yen plus Pegas in scale.

So is their upcoming Albegas and that one's also already spelling out disaster, even from its promo videos.
They really are one of the worst Japanese toy manufacturers around these days with subpar engineering and quality and ridiculous price tags for their shit and the only reason ET seems to still exist is because they're the only provider for a lot of those robots and characters.

Their best toys are decent but nothing to write home about, their worst toys are terrible, and all of it costs way more than it should.

My advice is cross your fingers and wait for reviews, and hopefully we'll get lucky.

Tatsunoko stuff in general doesn't get much traction since they aren't mainstream enough. Even after that Avenger-like revival anime/manga or some live action movies nothing much came of them.

Tekkaman Blade did get a fair amount with figma, Bandai's armored SHF line (I forgot name), and a Chogokin Pegas with tiny Blade. That's plenty of modern toys that many other deserving IPs should be getting.

Personally, the Armor Plus series (the big ones with metal armor) is probably as good we'll ever get for Tekkaman Blade. The SPEC one is pretty fun, but I'm not a fan of the Figmas.

I saw something on Aliexpress of a new company called Squint Eyed Studios (uhh...) that was supposed to release a Blaster Blade as their debut a few months ago, but I have no idea if it released
