Absorbing Man wave Venom is also cast in a solid black plastic while Monster Venom wave has a weird semi-transparent plastic, and the spider is painted much better on the original version too. I have both so I almost always just use the accessories from the Venom wave one on the original figure because the second body feels/looks so cheap compared to the first.

Since you seem to be a calmer and more rational anon, what do you like about it? I'm honestly curious. From the poorly chosen ASM2 mold, to the bright hyper-saturated colors with no panel lines, to the lack of ab crunch and waist swivel, to the complete absence of swappable hands and weird choices for the ones that are there, I just don't really see anything good about it.

It's fun to pose, I don't miss the swappable hands as much as I thought I would, but I'd say that's my only real personal point of contention. The bright colors are weirdly appealing to me, as is the texturing from the mold. The lack of ab crunch hasn't really hindered many poses for me. I don't know, it has obvious shortcomings but it manages to be a fun Spider-Man figure.

I personally like marbling, I think it's pretty, but I guess it can decrease the sense of realism and make a toy look even more "toyetic." I think the marbling in Hasbro's recent metallic plastic is more beautiful than ever though--it's deep and murky looking, and the metallic plastic gives off bright highlights and deep shadows, giving the figure a look of great depth with minimal effort on Hasbro's part.

I bought them too but there's a clear difference between ROML and MLIS. The jump from $15 to $20 and new boxes are a hard and obvious break between the two phases of ML. Might as well act like anybody cares about shit like the Blob wave.

I hope someone is working on an upscaled recast of this head. Marvel/Hasbro fucked up hard by not making screen-accurate Spiderverse MLs. That Miles/Gwen 2-pack was incredibly lazy, they even included the old Gwen unmasked head which looked nothing like the movie version.

He’s okay. The arms are decent but they have a weird bicep cut, the legs are restricted by the (removable) skirt, the flame sword is a little heavy for his skinny arms, and the wings and cowl are made of pretty hard plastic, so turning his head is a no-go.

Hello all, last time I posted about wanting to do a custom IW Thor. Just a few follow up questions before I start. I was looking at paints today & I should use a metallic black paint for the arms right? Also I should wash the arms and try to pop them off before I start correct?

I'm pretty sure his arms are just silver and the lighting is making it look darker but a base of black with a dry brush of silver could look good. And if you want it to be solid black i'd go with a high gloss black, but if you want metallic black just mix some silver with some black and you'll be good. Unless you can find metallic black paint.

And yes absolutely wash the figure. You don't HAVE to take the figure apart for painting but you could. At the very least make sure you sand the joint so you don't get paint rub.

For the hair you want matte not gloss. I'd also use a little bit of blonde (or whatever color one would use to get blonde hair) and give his hair and beard a dry brush with it.

You can find gunmetal colored paint. Testors or Model Masters I think. I've seen a few cloth capes made for the IW Thor figure and if you can find one I'd suggest the Mezco Ragnarok Thor head.

yeah warm water and a little dish soap. use a toothbrush if you have a spare.

I've kind of been thinking it for a while now, but now that they made the 2-pack black widow with double jointed elbows I wonder what they're gonna do going forward. Moving to proper articulation would be great, but then it's kind of tacitly admitting a third of the figures they put out over nearly the last decade were gimped for no reason.

Legs are alright, torso joint is limited, arms suck and she's walleyed. I'm glad I got her as long as I don't look to close, but rogue's supposed to be a brawler and it's hard for that figure to sell a punch.

I like the clawed hands and feet look, I think the symbol looks good, different enough without being drastic. The eyes are cool looking. And the articulation on that body is good and allows for some nice attack poses.

Vintage wave Black Widow, The old Hasbro Marvel Legends Black Widow & Winter Soldier two pack short hair head ( I got the grey one, it was cheap), It fits on perfectly. Though it's small compared to most of the Hasbro heads now-a-days. And Black Cat from the Ultimate Green Goblin Wave.
