I'm so confused with 3P Legends right now. I just got my first two Magic Square figures - G2 Sideswipe and Twincast. The casting quality is absolute garbage compared to Iron Factory, there's flash and ejection pin marks everywhere, and on Sideswipe especially water/coolant crazing all over the surface of some parts. I'm not even sure they're actually made of plastic, it feels more like a vinyl or hardened rubber - plus, both of Twincast's cassettes have issues folding inside-out due to mis-pinned hinges, they don't line up straight as cassettes and won't fit inside his chest. With that being said, I can't stop playing with them. The design work, engineering, and overall aesthetic is outstanding and the only thing I would give Iron Factory over them on that front is head sculpts. I just wish all the good wasn't being wasted thanks to the fucking awful casting process they're using. I have no idea which line I'm going to commit to going forward.
Does anyone have any idea which companies are behind these lines? I know people seem to think Newage is an offshoot of DX9/Unique Toys, and I've heard people say Magic Square might be KFC under a new banner...
