I much prefer the new head to the Leno chin, it at least captures his impishness a bit better and while not the "hidden in the shadows" look of the Cockrum/Claremont days, it's still way more accurate.

The thing that miffs me about the new figure, no surprise, is that the articulation looks like ass. No proper ab crunch? On a Kurt figure? Fuck off, Hasbro.

I think it captures the character better depending on your source, but the sculpt also seems just less detailed overall to me. I'd really prefer to have a ToyBiz Nightcrawler head that just didn't have the massive chin. This head from CastingCave looks good and I'd love to see it painted up. That said I still haven't seen the alternate head (heads maybe? I forget) the Hasbro figure is supposed to ship with. Lack of an ab crunch and lack of bendy wire for the tail sucks fuckin butt, but I'm more concerned with how his hip articulation will work. Hasbro doesn't have a good track record for giving characters that should have great hip articulation great hip articulation.

The white you see here is her makeup. The eyes themselves are acurate, they just over did it a little with the white eyeliner amd it creates the anime effect. This is a common japanese makeup technique to pull off the “anime eyes” look. Kinda cool

So is it safe to say that Morph from the old Fox cartoon will never get a modern toy? I don't believe he was ever in canon proper, AoA was kind of the closest they ever came to that and I think he and the toon itself have largely been forgotten by Marvel.

I wouldn't be surprised if we got one eventually but I wouldn't hold my breath either. Hasbro gets all the use they can out of their body molds and with the Cyclops we got and the upcoming Forge there's a good Morph figure in those somewhere.
You could always customize if you really wanted. I wouldn't say that cartoon has been completely forgotten by now. It's incidental since the show used so many of his designs but all the Jim Lee X-Men figures that have been releasing are pretty much X-Men TAS figures. In that sense it's never been a better time to be a fan of that show.

The funny thing is he technically was, he was a silver age villain called Changeling who was arguably a member of the X-Men for a brief time when he impersonated Xavier (at Xavier's request), and is the subject of the famous NOT A DREAM NOT A HOAX THIS IS REAL cover. They wanted to have an X-Man to kill off in the first episode to show the stakes, and wanted to avoid using Thunderbird because immediately killing off their only Native American character would've looked bad in the 90's. They also couldn't call him Changeling due to potential conflict with the DC character so they called him Morph.

Of course he looked really goofy in his Changeling costume and he never wore the familiar TAS outfit, but technically Morph did exist in some form in 616 continuity.

While I do think this generally looks great, I sorta wish they'd shaded in his forehead in shadow so it blends right into his hair, like in the comics. It's just one of those iconic little details that I love to see in toys, like how the DCUC classic Bats shaded his face in to be accurate the comics.

I have spent a lot of money on MLs and I'm personally ok with what I have but if somebody said they would upgrade the sculpt to something similar to the 12" line then I would most definitely be on board. Why wouldn't anyone want these toys to improve? Heck everyone's on board with 2.0s on DBZ SHFs and I'm even looking to get both Mafex and Revo Wolverine just because they each have different strengths. I think he really is just trolling.

Yeah Mezco doesn't really do it for me. I think they're too static I guess? The Mafex and Revo ones are really great though. I think the Mezco's design is to Hot Toysi for me and not really my taste I guess. I do hope the MLs upgrade. Even just that jump to their 1/12 waist would do wonders.

Checked out two targets today. No dice on Endgame merch yet in my area. Planning on going hunting tomorrow so we'll see if I can find anything cool. I agree. Not to say his suit wasn’t cooler or more effective than ever before, but we’ve hit kind of a “technology creep” where he had to put it on with the aid of a machine, then the suitcase one, then it flew on as a laser-guided pod, then the suits flew onto him in pieces, then he could just hop in and out of them, and now it magically appears from a device on his chest and it can form anything he can think of, not unlike Sandman. Not sure where they can take it from here.

There's a few threads on /toy/ that don't feature the shitposting you find here, despite featuring east and west toys, because the major Japanese brands (Figuarts, Revoltech) don't make toys for fanboys to come into the thread to shitpost over.
It's easy to recognize what causes the problems, especially if you remember what these threads were like before these lines started making toys of a license.
