Electric train thread

I've recently gotten back into it (as an adult) and am currently working on a Bachmann HO EZ-track layout, and converting my old childhood Life-Like engines/rolling stock to knuckle couplers, so everything is nice and compatible.

Does anyone know what this part is called?
It's from a Life-Like diesel, it screws to the body and then you attach the coupler to the end. I need another short one.

I think you might just have to by a lot of broken life-like trains on eBay and scalp the part.

Yeah I was thinking I'd probably end up having to do that.

I actually have to shave them down to a flat surface (where the coupler goes) and then glue a trimmed down Kadee gear box (#232) on to fit the Bachmann coupler.
So I thought maybe get the part 3-D printed with a flat top, or the gear box as part of it, but then I have to find someone who can scan/design it and print it, etc. Would just be a lot easier and cheaper to shave it down, it just seems like a waste for a part that may be somewhat rare/hard to get.

Try contacting the maker, Bachmann are great for spares they've not made in years, so you might have some luck.

Got this bitch to make at some point, too. Don't wanna use a motor it was intended for, though, as those really do suck.
