>>7473594It's alot less attractive than it used to be, which sucks because I need them more than ever due to retail falling the fuck apart.
My observation is that they seem to be slipping and doing things that don't help. Consider the following. What if they ran their distribution program behind the backs of Hasbro, Mattel, established distributors, etc? Not long after, the embargo happens. And, as the embargo seems to have let up a little on other shops, it definitely persists with BBTS.
They dropped their preorder discount.
They made the collection condition upcharge a function of price instead of a fixed fee.
They started hiding item quantities.
They started charging MSRP. Regularly higher than other domestic shops even.
They lock up more stuff in cases/sets.
They started requiring more non-refundable down payments.
They quietly punish serial cancellers.
They shorted the POL holding period, making it harder to aggregate orders with all the stinking delays.
Now there's this sales tax problem and lots of good stuff is hanging around clearance after clearance.
Customers seem to be bailing left and right and are pretty vocal about it. For whatever reason, I don't see anything being done to counter that. There's no loyalty bonus. They won't even honor a tax exemption certificate for resellers (not "scalpers" - I mean small time dealers or closeout buyers).
I really hope I misread all these clues. I would have to stop collecting if they went under.
