So the one thing that might help you, make sure the bottom of the black neck piece stays under the purple chest piece. The neck joint is double jointed in a way, hinge and ball joint, so make sure the neck is positioned where it should be. You might have to heat up the torso so the chest cavity isn't collapsed in. Bad assembly might've messed up the balance of parts since these revos are gummy PVC. Heating the collar can spread the neck area so it doesn't get carried with the moving neck as much.
Going all the way back will still lift everything but like you said you don't need all that range anyways, right? Hope this helps, glue it if you must.
I'm more bummed on how bad the shoulder blade ball joints are getting since Deathstroke. So loose and spreads open for no reason.
