As promised in previous thread, here’s a comparison of the original (left) Acid Rain Sand Infantry and the reissue (right)

There was more weathering on the figure, most noticeable on the mask though it wore off on the “skirt” on this one. On that topic, it’s one piece with the harness so it rode up and looked awkward so the reissue has a cloth tunic and used the same harness that the Marine has which was originally created for the Taste of Coffee guys. You’ll also note that the paint on the hands of the reissue are already chipping

Im saving the sexy posters for a straight-up whorehouse/pleasure palace building

For the market, its a playmobil set I got on discount in germany. Prolly cost 26€. Good buy. I also bought 3 vending machines for 10€ each. They were selling a nicely sized bank vault with gold ingots but I thought about my theme "sci-fi" and most money will be credits anyway. They dont need no cash vaults.

Huh. Everyone was making a big fuss over how the 1.0s looked better, but seeing em like this, I think I actually prefer my 2.0. Aside from maybe the kneepads, the weathering isn't THAT much better on the 1.0, though I do prefer the slightly darker paint colors on it.

Shame about the hands though.

I like her at the original Club price but not worth the insane prices she is going for. She comes with overalls that are hanging from her hip and it covers her tummy and the nice tat she has. I took that overall piece from a Renegades Tunnel Rat and trimmed it down and repainted it to match and now you can see her sexy tummy.

Hiya have had very spotty quality control off and on. Some people get figures that are broken or break very easily and some have no problems with them. I've no idea how these fare but if you order them go easy on the joints, that's where most people have had issues.

I own several aliens and a couple of the predator figures. The paint detail on them is fantastic but like you said, the joints can be fragile. I recommend a hot water bath to loosen any stuck joints so they dont break. I dont understand why Hiya does not use the same hard plastic BFS does for the joints.

The figures usually scale well with other 1:18th figures so i dont think there will be an issue of pin head syndrome with them. Do you mind sharing what custom figure you are wanting to use the head for?

The figure is fine otherwise IMO. But a bit expensive for the low plastic quality. As you said BFS and Marauders have much better materials

Weirdly enough, I think she cute and have preordered her. I only have two other ARW figures, though so they aren't my main 1:18 focus.
Sidenote, what other heads fit onto ARW figures with minimal modification(preferably to the head). I want to give my guys helmetless alt-looks.

count your lucky stars. it costs 20 euros a pop when I got it in germany. The special figures like black armor guy cost 25 euros.

its going to go up even more since its a one time 1/18 line and useful for diff customs

It was meant to be a continuation of Rise of Cobra line with the movie actor likeness, till that axed that idea and did new heads. Some like City Strike Scarlett (which used the same torso as Resolute Scarlett and got used for the FSS 1 Club Jinx) and Arctic Duke (the body would end up on the CLub's Blizzard releases and Big Bear) never saw release, while others got reworked like the Jungle Cobra Commander, Jungle Storm Shadow and Ripcord became Skydive.

To be fair that's the going price for retail 1:18 figures unless you go for the Corps figures.
The Fortnite figures are well made, have good articulation and are nicely detailed. The single figures come with no weapons or back accessories so that sucks. The 4 pack is the better deal as it comes with weapons. Plus you get 1 of the best figures in the line. Cuddle Team Leader.

I grabbed two of the Fortnite figures and I agree they're well worth the price, but only if you pick them out in store by yourself. They are still Jazzware toys and that means their QC can be questionable. I grabbed Omega from BBTS when he was like $10 and one of his ankle joints is just messed up, like the leg itself is molded wrong and the hinge is inserted in at an odd angle. Otherwise he's a cool figure, especially for the price. I managed to find a few Drifts at Target, and while looking em over, a few had some terrible paint apps and there were more then one with the same shoddy looking construction, but thankfully one of them looked to be in great condition.

I plan on at least getting one of the Builder packs because it looks like it would make for a great insta-playset, and there are a few more single pack figures I'll also grab.

Speaking of BBTS discounts, the Lost Planet 2 figures were like $10 each so I grabbed some of them. Again, for the price, they're not terrible but they're certainly not worth the original $30 they were going for. Might grab a few more if they're still on sale.

the Viper Pit and Eagle's Edge 3-packs.
Night Marksmen 2-pack, maybe the Socal Clash two pack if you really want Lady-Jaye.
The Night-Landing vehicle pack isn't bad either as well as the Battle Below Zero vehicle pack

From 2015
Vanishing Act and Sneak Attack 3packs are pretty good.
All the 2packs bar Swamp Steam (Blowtorch again vs Croc Master) are also worth getting, but even then it's not bad.
Both Vehicle sets are worth it and one is just 2 extra figures for the SDCC release while the other has a vehicle team swap for SDCC vs the retail one. All pretty good.

From 2016
Both 3 packs are good, with the Cobra one being better even though the female officer mold is a bit naff.
And you can't go wrong with any of the 2packs
No vehicles at retail that year, only a nice final GI JOE vs Transformers set with a good scarlett and repaint of Retaliation Zartan with A red Rattler and Soundwave version of the DTC 2005 Cobra HiSS (the transport one)

Fucking criminal shame that Playmobil isn't more to scale with 1:18 stuff. Some of it works just fine, but it's maddening to have awesome accessories but out of scale buildings. I've bought a lot of discounted sets because they have badass rats/spiders/snakes/barrels/candles/etc but can never use 100% of a set.

Honestly, it was just that Social Clash 2-pack of the Baroness vs Lady Jaye. Should have been a stone cold classic, but the face paint apps were awful on the Baroness and Lady Jaye's were a dice role of chance ( a shame as the head sculpt was great, just look at the Club's NIght Force Lady Jaye).

Also the 50th HEAT Viper is terrible.

Oh yeah I see it. Some accessories in the first year of 50th sets are made either of a super soft plastic or have extremely gummy paint. The red gas can on 50th Snow Job was stuck to another accessory when I took him out of storage and left red marks behind everywhere. It feels like it's almost wet.

So... Time to talk about Zombie Lab. I was an avid fan from the start - what is there not to like about highly detailed and articulated 1:18 scale zombies and survivors?

Well as it turns out - a few things. I bought a "Jack" civillian figure and noticed a few issues straight away and I'll list them below.
>The figure is painted in it's colours, not molded like BF or Marauders
>The joints are painted over which means they are stiff, prone to snapping and once paint has worn off you get the base plastic colour shining through (wrists and shoulders are the worst)
>Skin tone looks like shit. no kidding. It's not human, it's cardboard coloured which is weird as fuck.
>the guns that came with him are *obvious* copies of marauder guns without the customisation like moving stocks or removable sights / surpressors
>Needed to shave the inner elbows and pecs down to get any kind of decent rifle shouldering poses which makes the figure look dumb without a combat vest on

That being said, I like the design of the shirt / jeans and I weathered mine up and swapped a few parts around to make him usable in a post apoc Dio / squad.

Feels good to get my customising mojo back.. just don't get me started on the ZL facebook page or Locker "fuck the customer" Toys.. lol

Locker toys is not actually the maker of zombie lab. They bought the whole project from the kickstarter guy when that group ran into issues and couldn't deliver.

I heard locker toys is a rich young hk dude who offered to buy the entire project so he could get toys out. He's a big fan of 1/18 and trying to push it in the asian market.

Too bad his customer service sucks (from what I heard anyway) but I dont know their side.

All the attachments were modified by adding a peg that would easily pop into the forearm. They had just a hole initially.

Remember i gave the figure lots extra paint apps to make it look better. I painted his head black then dry brushed it brass. Colored several sections of his legs and arms black. Dry brushed his black parts with metallic steel paint to make them look like weathered metal. I also lightly dry brushed the teal parts with a metallic teal to pake it look shiney instead of it looking matt.

First of I can't really argue with your points but the paint issues aren't as bad as described, just a weird concept for starter.
Second, it is the only way to get nice 1:18 civilians and BFS compatible to boot.
Third BFS bought the license, so we are going to see some better QC on this line in the future.

They use the screwdriver to separate the torso. I use something like a towel to stabilize the figure. Take the screwdriver and place it right on the seam where the two torso halves meet. Then using a hammer, hit the handle of the screwdriver to drive down the screwdriver and split the torso.

Pretty much this. Cracking Joe torsos is part of customizing Joes. Wish it had a screw in the back instead to make it easier or if the arms could just pop out like BFS figures. I would start with a cheap GI Joe you don't care for and practice on that one. There is another method where you use bench vice or channel lock pliers to squeeze the torso at the shoulders and get it to crack. That method can ruin the shoulders though. I use a similar technique as this anon>>7492707.

While he is incorrect about the company, the figure he posted comes with an unofficial "John Wick" head (codenamed Theodore) that was shown off at NJCC iirc. The figure is indeed a 1:18th scale John Wick homage, they just don't show the head on the site to most likely avoid any legal issues.

I've been meaning to place another MTF order for some flight helmets, but I was hoping to put it off for a while. But I also wasn't expecting them to throw "Theodore" up for sale so soon, so that's another $50 bucks thrown at Marauder John.

Honestly, I don't mind waiting for his stuff as he always throws in some freebies. He's probably my favorite Indy toy company out there as he always makes some great figures.

Both of you are correct. it is a t-peg, and they are NOT compatible with the ball-joint necks of modern 3 3/4-4"figs. I love them for that retro feel, but I don't mix the two on the shelf.
