However, surprisingly few dios are actually good or convincing so there’s a lot of hemogeny in the ACBA style which makes it infuriatingly repetitive. Just Marvel Legends standing an inch or two away from a brick wall with tacky letters floating around and random colors in the negative space. See pic related. You’ve seen one you’ve seen them all.
Their whole “everything must be in camera with no post” rule is pretentious and goes against literally every other school of thought in photography. Post is part of the process, always has been. That’s like being a woodworker who doesn’t believe in sanding and staining or varnishing—- it’s retarded.
There’s tons of non-ACBA toy photographers who do great work with sets, dios, and artificial lighting.
