I would have a much stronger urge to get the he-man figures if i had a chance to get the older ones i missed out on.

Fat chance at them getting voted back in, so i'll pass on the set. I did get he-man and skeletor though, they looked good enough standalone.

Yeah that's how I feel. I got Battlecat and Evil Lyn though because they seem fine as setting agnostic figures. I would want Trap Jaw if he for sure came with some kind of helmet because I could just use him as a big blue guy.
All in all, my wallet's feeling pretty safe this wave.

The alt heads they do or do not come with will make or break most of these for me. The goblin is probably a buy, maybe the dwarf if he also has a cool helmeted head. Panthor is almost cool. I don't care for his furless body, but a demon head would be neat. Trapjaw looks bad imo, but I could be persuaded with any not-stupid head; I could always paint over his awful, flat green.

The figures are not for sale all the time, you either buy them during pre-order or during in-stock sales.
They always announce it via e-mail (and some social media if i'm not mistaken) a few weeks prior to the sale.
An alternative is buying from BBTS, but the prices are higher.

That looks pretty damn good, probably my favourite ogre yet. That said, I still want the vampire one and I'm not sure if I want two ogres, because they do look quite similar. And I would be much more open to buying ogres if others had gotten their hands on the ones from last wave yet
Also I'm not sure if I like the helmet yet, especially the back

Overall a pretty good wave for me, only the barbarian and Panthor are instant passes for me

The helmet piece makes Not-Trap-jaw a must have for me, it's a fantastic reuse of the Deltigar crown for those of us who passed on him for various reasons. Though I still think a purple skull with green facepaint would have looked better overall. And the alt head should've either been a Demon or the hooded skeleton, the Great helm is horrendously overused.

The Goblin and the Fembarian are both hard passes though, even with a new head the Goblin is just too boring and the girl is even worse. The Barbarian head does work much better for the build, but they really needed to do something else to make her more unique. A full armored torso with bare limbs would've made for a much more interesting character imo.

The Panther and the Dwarf are also great figures that I'd love to have, but I'm not sure if I can afford them. The colors on Panthor look amazing, and I don't mind his look without the neck, regardless if he comes with it or not. And the shirtless dwarf is a shirtless dwarf, with a fantastic new head to boot.

It more or less comes down to a choice between those two or the Cyclops, who just looks amazing. Far better then the orange Troll version. The removable helm and use of the giant's belt buckle instead of the Ogres are great touches.

The biggest surprise from this wave to me is the fact it doesn't have a single Troop Builder. The last wave at least had the Dark Elf Ranger, even though it wasn't Legion Builder priced. I'm a huge proponent of them including at least one lower price point figure per release wave, even if it's a re-issue of a previous figure.

Well it's a good thing they are an established company known for always delivering on their products while keeping a good rapport with their fans.

With minimal new tooling and mostly repaints, they usually ship figures 6-8 months after pre-orders close, however delays can and do happen, so I'd expect at most a year turn around. But the molds for the new heads are most likely already tooled, so it's just a basic production run, which should quicken things up.

They frequently send out updates via newsletter so that's really the best place to get information. Their shop is just poorly built and only really useful for these short burst sales periods. Their Instagram and Facebooks are also good places to get news, as they're pretty active on both.

There's a difference between useful critiscm and being a blithering asshat. I personally have made many complaints about the line over the years, have lobbied multiple points of criticsm about the product and their business model and have routinely aired avenues of possible improvments I would love to see. Both in these threads and on the official forums. But I have never called them "mongs" or called their figures "shit" or trolled up the place by saying people who like their products are "shills or employees" because that is not criticsm, that's being an asshat. And the words of an asshat hold little to no value.

This is not some "faceless company", they couldn't be any further from that if they tried. These guys are very open and willing to coverse with fans and often answer questions directly and take a lot of suggestions and advice from them. Almost every fan of this company knows exactly what Cornboy looks like.

Their pre-order methods may not be ideal, but it is consistant and transparent and it's worked well for them and the collectors for years. It may suck to not know exactly when you're getting a figure but I'd rather they honestly tell us they don't know either then make up a date they can't come through on. Producing figures in China is not easy and delays do happen, and they happen for *every* toyline.

And anyone who says that this line hasn't seen improvements is trolling or does not actually collect them. The newer figures are generally more solid, the new weapon choices add tons to each new figure and the 2.0 build has greatly improved range of motion as well as added joints. And the new shield grip is a MASSIVE improvement over the wrist clip.

If you want to critique and criticize these figures and how they run things, that's fine. They really do have a lot of things they need to improve on. But if you want to be a snarky jackass, then don't expect to be taken seriously.

It's one thing I've noticed with fanboys for various toylines. The more hoops you need to jump and the more expensive they are, the more batshit insane and overdefensive you guys get.

Hell, i like buying exclusives, but fuck if I'm not honest that you're shit out of luck if you can't get it.
I remember when 4H's exclusives were easy to swallow, because they always have them in stock the day you bought them. Instant gratification is awesome, but the best part about it is you get to see the actual product before wasting your money on it.

What a nice surprise, after several days of my package being stuck it took only one day to get to me.
Really happy with these guys, Gonxx and Xarria are better than I expected and the skeleton will be a guard for Mandibulus along with the one I have already. I also got the black wings, but I think I'll sand down the pegs and put them on my Gothitropolis Raven

Also what is the email to contact the 4H about QC issues? Haven't had any before, but the skeleton soldier is missing the spike for the helmet and has two left horns.

I've been buying all of 4H's stuff since the minotaurs in the mid-00s, but im being really selective now thanks to their cheaping out.
They're making more money than ever and seeing almost no improvements since those minotaurs makes it easy to ignore the majority of their junk.

The fact people are WOWing over using better plastics and improving on the paint is a huge laugh, because that's not a fucking improvement, because they used to be great BEFORE. What's this form of fraud called?

But that's besides the point, my issue is with them having no idea when they'll produce their upcoming figures and still asking people to preorder them. You don't fucking do that ANYWHERE.

Back when they were going to have interchangable bodies and pieces to have them swap, that was the point back THEN.

They changed that gimmick to please their He-Man base and ditched the swappable limbs. Not to mention scale change.
It's an entirely different line from its original premise.

And after however many kickstarters, they're still cheaping out. Shit, their biggest updates on this line have come inter-kickstarter waves (trolls, ogres) where they ask for their interest free loans because every bank recognizes their business model is incredibly shoddy to give them a real loan.

So every one of the figures i ordered have arrived, and damn, they all look gorgeous!
I do have two problems though, Knubnik knee joints are stuck, and Mandi's left leg is loose, not as in "it wingles around" but rather like "it's literally loose, if i change the pose it pops off as if it was never conected". Gonna try some hot water on Knubnik later as that is fairly common, no idea of how to help Mandibulus though. Any suggestions?

Either way, i'm overall very pleased! Have 9 figures in total and they all look freaking beatiful. Will definitelly get more of them on the next in-stock sale.

You mean the figures which heavily relied on part reuse? Did you get the birds that also reused the same body for every figure? What about Scarabus variants? These figures have more variety in the line than any of their other popular lines. This argument makes no sense.

So you basically end up with a single figure that looks original and great, and a dozen not-so good frankies. They are not that unwieldly big. Just around the size of the ubiquitous arpoon polearm so you surely make yourself an idea of the size if you have one of those around. They are impossingly tall and wide, but not to ridiculous extents.

I got a couple of these, they look alright but I doubt I'd buy more. Very stiff joints (with paint on them that gets scrapped off the more you move them) or gummy joints.
The shoulder plates made of gummy rubber kinda sucks and they definitely don't sit super well in the sockets because they've just been doused in thick paint.
Weapons looks kinda shitty and flat and need actual 2-part paint instead of being just one solid colour.

Some shill will probably get mad at me but it is what it is. I don't really feel like these figures are worth their price+shipping.
Maybe a $20 price point like marvel legends would make them more worth it since they're about that quality.

They would need to tool new bodies, and limbs. With the bare chests and muscles they can reuse the parts as much as they want.

They never upgraded 1.0 skeleton bodies outside of 2.0 with a completely new sculpt, and i doubt they would start with a bigger line such as the ogres.

If they didn't mold skeletal limbs or bodies at the start, i doubt they'll upgrade it later. Possibly for 3.0, but i'm not holding my breath for that.

I can't say I've experienced gummy or stiff joints yet, mine have been perfect, but I do know others have been having stiffness issues too so I'll probably get that at some point.

Basically, I'm new to the line as of this wave, and I'm mostly happy. Just probably gonna stay away from any cheap builder figures in the future, I'd rather have fewer but better looking toys.

Hasbro has made some good strides lately and I'll give them that, but MLs still have very few paints apps for the most part, relying mostly on unpainted, uncoated plastic, and the ones that are there are often very thick and sloppy.

Hasbro trumps 4H in their mold use strategy. They also reuse with mix and matches but they invest in new parts far more regularly.

The ideal scenario for 4H is for them to ground their figures in the same bucks they already have, but do more for new armours, heads and weapons.

I think they overestimated how much they could squeeze from the KS molds and we're pretty much past the peak of Overdone moving into Tired.

I was really into the line for a while, I even bought the comic book. What really hurt the line is the honestly the overuse some mold. The Gorgo helmet being a prime example. It looks great on each individual figure, but as a whole line it makes no sense.

So Gorgo was the big bad, but he uses the same helmet as Ignatius the shining knight in gold armor, Blood knight, forest sentries, random barbarian builder, random orc soldier, random gladiator, and so on. Reusing molds across factions ruin the immersion, now everytime I got a new figure it's just same old seen everything but with different color.

2.0 brought some fresh mold to the table, but even then with all the reuses they're already running things to the ground once more. I'm tired of having suppposedly important characters wearing non unique helmet and 100% reuse. Rather than a cohesive universe, my Mythic Legions shelf start to look like a cosplay party where everyone went to the same supply store.

You need to start looking beyond the line, stealing accesories from other figure and mix match them to make your own OC stand out in the ocean of generic recolors and overused weapons.

I kind of had the same issue with Gorgo's helmet until I realized two things.

1) Most of the figures that share that helmet use it as a bonus alt helmet. It's an extra piece not needed, but added on for variety.

Also, the Blood Knight and Barbarian Builder got that helmet due to fan demand less so the 4H just giving it to them randomly.

2) Gorgo was a regular Knight, and probably a member of the Order of Eathyron which Ignatius comes from. If they share a similar origin, it makes sense for them to have similar gear. The helmet is less a unique piece of character defining armor and more a generic piece of armor used by multiple troops.

Arethyr is the real big bad of the Arethyr Army, and always has been. Once he comes out Gorgo will be pushed to the wayside.

As for the 2.0 run, *every* single non-troop builder in the KS run had a unique head. Hell, some troop builders came with multiple unique heads (Barbarian Builder, Skeleton, even the Knight Builder has a unique head). We've also seen mid-wave releases use new heads, both Goblins, the Mohawk Dwarf, the Ice Elf, all getting new heads. Hell, I got four generic knights from 2.0 and each one has a unique head.

To me, that's a feature and one of the biggest draws of the line. I love how "blank slate" these figures are and how their scale works so well with so many other figure lines.

Yes, there's a lot of head reuses, but most of the time it's optional alt heads or troop builders. There is no lack of unique heads, what we need however is more belts, pauldrons and torso pieces, because THOSE are the parts that start getting stale in a larger collection.

This is honestly a negative, because the no name jabronies troops are wearing the same gear as the named characters - further sucking the personalities out of the named characters. I have some knight builder, Owain the named silver knight and Galeron the bronze knight doesn't stand out at all amongst the other no name Templar jabronies. Each named characters honestly should have a unique head, preferably unmasked/unhelmeted

You see, they held a vote back in 2009 for what figure they should make that year would be and this one lost that vote. The didn't even make it to the finals. After producing a buttload of different types of birds, they thankfully dropped the horrible idea of making one single, unique body with slightly different heads. That figure was just part of a one off series they made for some art shows, and it was never really set to get put into full production.

They aren't perfect figures, but that's pretty explicitly untrue. The tabards have muddy weathering, and a sculpted dynamic fold to them, assuming you mean the crotch piece of the tabard of course. If you're referring to the entire tablet, then I think you're retarded And have never looked at one of these toys in person.

The classic shield from the first wave isn't very good though, it can work, but it does look a little too pristine. The wooden round shield and the runic shield look great, though, and the sculpting on the dwarf shield is really interesting. And that's not to mention the turtle shell, which is badass.

If you're disappointed in the product after the after stock sales you can just scalp it on ebay because that would be the peak price for any figure. I made a decent profit scalping out any 2.0 stuff I didn't want last time.

The only annoyances was you need to check their newsletter to be in the know about when the afterstock sales happen. Usually you have about 24-48 hours window to get what you want and ship in two or three weeks. I didn't back the 2.0 KS and managed to get everything I wanted from the afterstock sales.

The only real downside is that you cannot troop build, because the 6 builder or 4 builder deals are not in the afterstock sales

Mandibulus is probably my favorite, his paint work is just amazing, his two tone tunic and waist skirt are fantastic and his headsculpt is just amazing. He was one of my favorites when he was first revealed but having him in hand and discovering (through other posters here) that his jaw could actually move, made him take the top spot hands down.

It's kind of hard to quantify the rest though, but if I had to I'd probably go with Bog Goblin and most likely Myria. The former because he's got a fantastic headsculpt that brings him so much character and the latter because again, the great head sculpt (that damn smug smirk) but also because I managed to give her some extra accessories that just make her so much better then she actually is. It's amazing how some simple part swaps can improve these figures and their almost generic nature makes em so easy to customize.

Though if I were to cheat, my number one favorite figure of all time would be my v1 custom knight test shot. But I feel he doesn't really count in this kind of discussion.

I doubt we'll ever see a true Skeleton Ogre, at most it'll just be a skull on the basic Ogre head. But as far as I'm concerned, the Cyclops is the best use of this body size. The Troll version was just too big imo, but Argemedes just owns the scale. I had originally planned to stick with one Ogre, but this guy forced my hand.

As for Trapjaw, he's not really a skeleton, he's a magical science experiment. More of a Frankenstein's Monster rather then a true "undead". He's just as much of a skeleton as Gorgo imo.

And Thumpp just feels far more unique then Gonxx and I love Gonxx. His grumpiness and big pauldrons scream out "Goblin Boss" then Gonxx ever did. Especially since Gonxx not only comes with one head as well, it's the same head packed as an extra with the Legion Builder. Also, Thumpp's got a great loudout, he's worth it for the weapons alone.
