Original Optimal ansolutely cannot hold his gun, at least not any better than a toddler can hold a remote control. Shit slips loose.
The fourth alt mode SUCKED. It meant as much as Siege Shockwave’s alt mode.
The only advantage old Optimal has is
1) Nostalgia, which I admit I have since he was one of my favorites as a kid, but also have the self-awareness to admit.
2) Light up parts. Which admittedly is fucking amazing and ranks alongside Laser Optimus as the best uses of the gimmick ever.
But ankle tilt alone makes him far better, original can only stand at attention in any non-vehicle mode.
