I seriously question how many people are going to go in on this. MOTU fans will drop a lot of money, but there are quite a few diehards on .org that are not going for it.

$600 plus shipping, tax, and whatever % for the payment plan for potentially typical Super7 quality means this is an absolute no go for me.

I love My Castle Grayskull, but that was still only $300. I wish Snake Mountain looked a bit more like the cartoon version, as I was never that excited about the original playset.

Mattel is letting licenses lapse a year ahead of the movie. Funko is donezo, Sideshow and Mondo have gone strangely silent, and Super7 is shoveling as much as they can onto the market while they can. At least MotUC is going out with a bang. And I'm not harboring any hopes that anyone will pick the line up again when it becomes available.

Without any new fans, the MOTU license was moving into a strange new phase; high end collectibles. I feel like existing collectors who wanted toys got theirs with MOTUC or the Filmation variants we're getting now, and the remaining collectors still collecting want something different. Statues, 1/6 scale, retro stuff, thats all moving because they want new stuff now. Mattel will probably crap out some cheap movie cash-in stuff that will fail to spark any more interest and if they don't license out the property its further doomed. The MOTUC are dated figures already but thats the best we're gonna get as far as the combination of line coverage and decent quality.

This playset finally happening means I will get a relatively small MOTUC collection to fill it. Mostly bad guys with a couple heroes to infiltrate and escape the mountain. Now all we need are updated dinosaurs.

I think it looks phenonemnal, I love that rich purple and I've always loved the art of Snake mountain with the weird snake head that doesn't quite look like a sneak on it. That said there is no world in which I would spend 600 dollars on that fucking thing. That's a big gamble and while Super7's Lodar is what got me collecting these guys to begin with. I don't know if I totally trust them on this.

Also more Non Filmation Classics when?
