>>7521226This. It amazes me how buyers now think that "free shipping" in a real service that exists and that US sellers can hope to match the $1 shipped prices of Chinese sellers.
Then you have to ones who will spend $7 shipped on one random happy meal or Kinder toy yet won't spend $9 shipped on 3 of the toys from the set. Separate shipping costs hurt sales more because eBay Bucks don't factor in shipping into rewards, gotta do free shipping so the buyer gets 2 cents more in points, and offering combined shipping doesn't seem to attract buyers into getting more items.
They are also FLOODED with "prohibited items" and refuse to use automatic keyword searches to police those listings or bar them from being listed. This I know why- they will often remove said listings a week after the sale, and still charge the seller listing & FVF amounts. They get to pretend they police their own site while making profit off the sales of those items in the process, and the eBay buttkissers on their help forums defend eBay not setting up to block prohibited listings under some excuse of "it would be too hard" and "just because they haven't been caught doesn't mean you can get away with it". They even have specific categories for some items that aren't allowed.
... and yet when I tried to list Transformer Titans Return Overboard, they wouldn't let me because it's too close to "hoverboard" which is a trademark. Hmm, eBay only bans listings beforehand if major companies throw shitfits. Their VERO system is also highly abused by retailers and companies who don't like people selling used goods, and game companies often get imports & cheat devices banned from being sold too.
