Literally no part of GT is worth sitting through, and that goes doubly so if you didn't like OG DB. It's not a very long series (only like 50 something episodes IIRC) but it basically starts off trying to recapture the magic of DB with adventures and shit (fails spectacularly), then tries to ride on DBZ's coattails by bringing back a bunch of old villains (completely mangles them all), and right when they finally decide to try to do something unique, it turns out decently and then ends. The very ending is alright. Watch a few AMVs or something lmao.

It's worth watching through at least one time just for the experience and so you can actually know what you are talking about when discussing (or bashing) it. It's only 64 episodes. The first 10-13 are extremely slow and boring, especially if you didn't like DB because that's the atmosphere they are trying to recapture. Once Baby shows up, they switch back to DBZ style stories. Baby's arc lasts through episode 40 and is an example of a great idea for a villain (even though it's a rip off of the Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans OVA) with not so stellar execution. Has probably the best fights in the series. Then you get 7 episodes of the Super 17 saga, which do not need to exist at all, and is in my opinion even worse than the first few episodes. Finally you get 17 episodes of the Shadow Dragon saga which is about as good as the Baby saga. Again, we have a really cool idea for the villains, and in my opinion the whole concept of this saga is the perfect way to bring everything full circle and tie up the story. But again, the execution could've been better. I hope that when they finally end Super or whatever comes next, they steal this story and only with input from Toriyama to make it as good as it could be.

Overall, I wouldn't necessarily call it a bad series, but its definitely mediocre. Outside of Baby and the Shadow Dragons, the series is pretty forgettable. But, with how few episodes there are, I'd say it's worth one watch just so you can decide for yourself how you feel.

Pretty solid analysis. I finally got around to watching GT as well this year, and it's mildy entertaining, but really just good for filling in the gaps and knowing the characters.

Interestingly enough, I also initially struggled with the first 20 or so episodes, but in retrospect, they were some of the best for character designs and development. Redgic, Ludd, General Rildo were actually fun characters to watch.

In contrast, Baby was completely 2 dimensional and the whole possessed saiyans, brutes waves and evil Bulma story line was painful to watch. Goku's escape from hell and the SSJ4 transformation saved it a bit, but soon devolved into a repetitive mess with him relying on the Super Kamehameha x10 for every subsequent battle.

The shadow dragon saga came across as a bit "villain of the week", but I held out for SSJ4 Gogeta which was only slightly disappointing simply due to the minimal screen-time. The ending was also quite sad I felt.

All in all, still worth watching, but set your expectations low and you won't be too disappointed.

Experimented with the SSG bootleg hands and with some dremeling, they fit well on the stars wrist joints. So I went an extra step and tried to make the joints sit deeper in the forearm. Getting fun desu

Yes, unlike Super which is a retread of Z in GT we get some new ideas and remixes of old ones. It starts as an OG Dragon Ball like show and it's fun if you like OG DB, if not then yeah you won't like it, then it becomes more like Z but sine things are so different in this universe already it doesn't feel as much of a rehash as Super does, also the last two arcs are rather quick so not a lot of filler. The ending is the best ending the show could have had really.

Flawed show but I think it tried things and succeeded in many of them.

I am 99% certain at this point that Tao and Chun will be the next 2 DB figures with the last 2 dragon balls. They won't make them exclusives.

Along with the survey, I think the inclusion of the electric rice cooker with Piccolo hints at Jackie on the way.

I am wondering if they're going to keep it at that or branch out beyond the 7 figures. King Piccolo seems well received so far, even getting more likes on its instagram reveal than Zamasu for example. I'm a big original DB fan but come on anon. Oolong travels along for only the first arc, which is a short one, before becoming nothing more than a small side character. Tao Pai Pai is pretty much the first serious fight to Goku and makes a return in the tournament as well. Tamashii has an option to make both his regular and cyborg heads and include the pillar for a cool display piece. You really wanted a figuarts instead of that?

It's just a repaint, but I'm holding out for an Androids saga Vegeta with a base head. And some people want his Namek look, though I'm not all that big on it myself. They could also make a 2.0 of his Whis armor if they felt like it for whatever reason, though I doubt it.
