>>7551896There is actually nothing wrong with that mentality whatsover. The importance of a figure and the quality demands can be entirely situational, it all depends on the context of the collection. Sometimes an outdated or shittier figure, can in fact fill a purpose.

Maybe some kind of diorama. It definitely does look like the character. There are plenty of non-action oriented background characters done in the same way and a lot of them do their job well; a lot of them do not come in super articulated form and never will. Figures like that are literally meant to be filler and they are worthless until they become a part of a bigger puzzle. Obsessing about "slots" in your collection in this case doesn't make sense at all. Believe it or not, experimentation is fun and people are interested in other things than just high end Darth Vaders and Boba Fetts. Collecting is not just about how much money you can spend on your favourite main characters, people have different pursuits and different ideas of fun. Different lines and different scales allow for different goals. The main appeal of Hasbro has usually been their willingess to do figures of characters that no one else will bother with.
