The whole Angela legal mess ended poorly and Marvel only got her so Neil could flip Todd off further(sure, he really wanted the rights back! Gave them up again as soon as he won!). I doubt anyone can follow canon anymore if Todd even cares. The animated reboot seems to be dead int he water and it's unlikely the old HBO series will get another season to settle the cliffhanger after 20 years. New movies never happen.
Spawn, through neglect, has become like Duke Nukem- a relic of the 90s that sort of gets new things here and there, but only those who were into it in the 90s still pay attention. Toss in a little of that "damaged through bad stories & media" aspect that fucked up Sonic the Hedgehog as well.
I think Todd would be better off doing reissues of older toys... on second though, look at eBay prices, I doubt he'd be able to compete at retail with how cheap most of them sell for. He'd have to go $5-$7 each just to sell them and he's not doing that.
