>>7566827>The bootlegs of those same turtles we're actually of unusually high quality for bootlegs.Yeah, hence why they're OP's best option.
>Why is that a con for figuarts and not also for the rest? There's a big difference between "dated but functional" and "should've been left in the design phase".
A year into the Shinkocchou Seihou line, no SHF should be as mediocre as the Turtles were.
The limited hips as a result of the plastron design, on top of the feet lead to some really unnecessary hindrances, making the figures feel like they were designed in 2012. Everything from the belt down was a hot mess, meanwhile the NECA 87 guys can basically do open splits.
It all comes down to expectations. Not like the NECA guys aren't flawed either.
Between stuff that's subjective like the cell painting being broken in certain poses turning people off, or the lack of interchangeable heads leading to limited posing options.
Or objective stuff like paint QC on the eyes for the SDCC sets, or NECA's also semi-dated hips having the tendency to sheer apart if it's too tight and being a hinge/ratchet system making it hard to loosen before that point.
On top of availability for the retail sets, movie turtles included.
Neither are perfect. Only Turtles that can be called perfect are the revoltechs.
But that's without any of the rest of the cast, and if you can look past revoltech joints.
And that's only for one incarnation.
