Got a few of these Russian trucks from ebay and they are awesome.

Made out of cheap injection molded plastic (like dump truck toys from the 80s) but are super detailed.
A few types(radar, missile launcher,tow-truck, command,etc) but they are variations on the basic body. I got the missiles and the radar.

There are a few sellers but the one active now is the more expensive seller (the shipping) but these things are big.

Do a search for Nordplast (the manufacturer) or October Guard to find them.

They make a lot of different toys but the scale is way off on some of the tanks. One of the sellers posts GIJoe figures in images with the models he sells.

I found a suitable Buck for those Funko MWC toys. English Sheepdog from "Puppy In My Pocket" with a full repaint.I used Google image references and didn't worry about too much detail, only trying to get the basic pattern as close as I could and the figures are a bit cartoony anyway. I just wanted to match what Funko probably would have done.

Buck was a Briard but an unusual one for his breed due to the unclipped ears and long hair, all the Briard figurines I found were short hair, a sheepdog is technically wrong but looks closer.

I got this 8 wheeled mini apc thing and the 4 wheeler from big lots today. I want to make it look more retro sci fi and paint it as well. It's not a bad vehicle. The only gripe I have is that the front seat isn't quite big enough for two people.

So the blue guy is my newest one. I decided that I want them to be exiled members of a caste army. Blue is scouting, Red is shock troopers, Black is stealth/spec ops and Green is infantry. None of them have names yet but the Blue guy is basically the most responsible of the bunch, not because he himself is a really responsible person but because in the land of dumb asses the slightly stupid man is king. Red is a shock trooper fitted with adrenaline stims so he's managed to total 2 cruisers, one of which he tried to use for "Ramming speed" into a tank... luckily Blue managed to take the wheel hard turn it before impact so they just flipped the cruiser and had to walk back after the fighting was done. Green is pretty chill but gets distracted easily and drives like a Grandma. Black WAS a good driver until he sold their last cruiser for money... 20 miles from the nearest major port. So Blue being the most responsible decided it was probably best that he drive.

I had to google what that was. That thing is bad ass. So I got this and the 4 wheeler for 20 bucks. It also came with 2 of the world peacekeeper shitter boys and a TON of cool accessories. 3 chemical drums, 2 wooden crates, 2 gas cans. 2 sand bags, a wooden case with 3 artillery shells. For 20 bucks, I'm pretty happy. I checked M and C, the apc alone runs 20 bucks. I don't know what I'm going to do with the APC other than weather is a lot but we'll see. Really happy I decided to grab it.

Rumor has it the our local hasbro/disney distributor ordered way too much stock (maybe bec of MOQ enforced by the mouse/hasbro), so the local pegs have been riddled with SW for the last 2 years.

It got so bad that products were never moving, we still got TFA toys on pegs! So the distributor ate the loss and discounted it all. Every hasbro SW product at a fire sale. U-wings for $15, 5 POA for $2, 2 packs for $4, etc.

That also means we are unlikely to get new SW toys moving forward. At least from official channels; grey market of SW toys here are 2-2.5 times the US srp.

I don't think japan has "good" 1/18 lines. The candy toys are decent enough tho.

Most developments in the 4inch scale are coming from the US (bossfight, mgr) and china/hk (joytoy, hiya, acid rain, pgv).

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuu. Anyways, it is from a Han Solo figure that comes with a Leia from a 'Princess Leia' action figure collection series (yeah, that was a thing). I first saw it on a blogspot about action figures on a LBC Cover Girl, I don't remember the name right now of that particular blog. How is it? I generally find joy toy a little loose on the joints, so the play ability is limited. Great for static posing though.

The left leg always pops out. I have 9 joy toys and all of them have this issue.

I wish I could somehow buy just the metal arm parts. I want a few chars to have right and left metal arms.

We're in the process of moving so I don't have any poly styrene or xacto knives or even a ruler for that matter. So I did these with notebook paper, scissors and just eye balling the lengths. I'm debating making some either steel or wood looking walls for the bed of the cruiser. I'm also toying with the idea of making a cabin for the front seat. The only thing stopping me is that I have pretty much no idea what I'm doing other than cutting squares and drilling them into the frame.

The leg popping out is something I've been dealing with and, as well the torso.
They lovingly sculpted abs but the ball that is on the top of the lower torso doesn't seem to actually pop into the top so that it's really easy for this guy to end up in two pieces.
He looks damned good but that peeves me.
I'm getting the robo medic whenever it comes out and hope it doesn't have the same problems.

I have no issue with the top and lower half splitting.

I have found a little fix for the leg thigh popping out. I cover the lower half with layers and layers of super glue to "create" more texture for the peg hole to grip with. Painstaking process, but it goes work.

The robo medic is not joy toy right? its a WOO figure. I want the WOO heavy combat robot. Preferably 2 or 3 of em. Haha

People are getting greedy with kickstarters.
Companies like BFS are doubling up and trying to enter the 1:12 market. If they succeed and see massive numbers, will they leave 1:18 behind like hasbro did?

For project like Unslain, its the same fantasy/knights&barbarians that bossfight is already doing. They have a new body mold, but people will buy it as the side character, not their main collectible.

We need a cyberpunk 1:18 kickstarter! Bring on the chip-on-partially-shaved-heads and swappable augs!

They must have, the one I got from Goodwill has the furled plastic sails. Nice action features, figures don't look too out of place on it (got a few POTC figs when Big Lots had them on clearance years ago). Also like how the hull splits open to allow access inside. Looks a bit bland in the molded plastic colors though. Was thinking it might be nice to paint and weather the thing to look like an authentic galleon, while keeping all the action features intact. Could make cloth sails and appropriately scaled hemp rigging instead of the plastic stuff.

BFS probably wont have those pirates out for another year. They haven't even gotten to sci-fi yet and they decided to make Fantasy go longer than initially planned. And Greeks went longer than planned as well, with 7 waves, and Fantasy is now on Wave 6, with a Wave 7 that's yet to be revealed, but noticeably there's been characters who were switched around when previously announced, and have said they may try to release the Sci-Fi and Fantasy waves side by side which explains the Dragon guy being in the Sci-Fi series and the recent blank that happens to have some of his parts.

I have them printed off photopaper from a print shop. The details and colors are much better but the surface is quite reflective and shiny.

The signs are either my own photoshop designs or from a decal pack I bought. Im currently experimenting on ripping out game assets from borderlands, deus ex or star wars.

This anon is correct. The first order snow speeder is highly underrated. Its an amazing sci-fi landspeeder type vehicle.

The box art misrepresents it and it is not "snow" themed. These misconceptions made a lot of people pass up on it.

They are not good at all. They have ARAH articulation but have more stylized proportions like superheros with their big chest; the weird c-grip of their hands combined with the lack of wrist articulation and thick af pistol grips or lack thereof, makes them unable to hold their weapons in any remotely realistic way, maybe some marauders would fit better but then I think they will look undersized. The overcoat on the stormtrooper fits nicely on modern joes though, if a bit on the big size since sgt savage are like 5 inches. I thought I had some pics of shipwreck wearing one on this phone, let me see if I can find them again. It also has like 4 "hoses" for those anons wanting to grab some for their cyber-punk customs. The guns are ok though, even if some have thick handles or pistol grips, I requisitioned the stiehlhandgranates for my cobras. The .30cal that comes with dynamite is one I want to get ahold of too for Roadblock.

My local CVS never, and I mean never, has good toys. It's always a mishmash of toys for babies and weird bad bootlegs (not the fun kind).

Today I stopped in for medicine and found this lone PoC Cobra Trooper on the shelf. This guy came out in fuckin 2010, they must have dug him out of some deep backroom trench and put him out on the pegs. Truly bizarre sight. Looking at it made me realize how good we had it back then, and how bad the 1/18 retail scene is right now. I balked at the $14 pricetag, but now I'm thinking maybe I should have nabbed it, Cobra Troopers are going for $20+ on eBay. Oh well.

The humans are a bit funky looking and short (3 3/4) but the nostalgia and film likeness accuracy hits you in the feels, specially with the JP1 humans.

There is some looseness to the joints though, but it would be an easy fix if they break.

As much as I want two scales to co-exist with each other, companies have to pick their battles. With hasbro's heavy support of 1/12, I fear that 1/18 will be left behind and abandoned by the independent companies in favor of that "1/12 munney".

BFS is already doing a 1/12 line and the marauder guys are teaming up with the valaverse guys to do 1/12.

Future ain't that pretty for us 1/18 folks.

I only collect 1/18 so I am heavily affected.

1/12 is way easier to collect for most people. You only need a few, they look great on the shelf on their own and they are cheap.

1/18 is an amazing scale but to unlock it's full potential you need to:

1. Customize. Learn how mix parts and paint well.

2. Army build. The small size allows for huge scenes.

3. Build dioramas. The small size allows you to create dioramas around the figures where a panoramic scenery becomes the centerpoint of the collection.

I back stuff that has more variety, not something that looks it could be a single stretch goal.
