I thought the same about 3, and it turned out better than expected.

As long as they don't shit on it and make me fucking hate it, then I'm okay with it. It's not 100% in Disney's hands, so it shouldn't be self-destructing to the larger fan base.

Kinda interested in image shown; I was always fucking bummed as a kid that Buzz always had munchkin wings for any release. Not sure on that price though, but I guess it's not far off from what my parents paid for as a kid.

Nah previous movies had way better toys, way better plots (read the plot leaks).

The movie won't be trash, but fuck I'm going to consider it non-canon.

They should've just done toy story adventures a tv show about the toys living with bonnie.

The funniest part about forky is he will be forgotten by bonnie super fucking fast after she accidentally breaks him.

Craft toys don't last long unless they're actually made out of solid materials like sewing and shit.

A spork is going to get tossed.

What kind of adult collector has their entire collection just be their childhood toys? That's fucking pathetic. Adult collectors want quality and accuracy over playability/affordability, only actual losers still buy kids toys as an adult.

Honestly it would be cool to see a Toy Story movie about the actual collectors side of things, that isn't for the sake of selling to a museum like in 2, but these are kids movies to begin with and they wouldn't be interested in that subject.

Uncommon opinion, but I didn't like 2 that much, but 3 pleasantly surprised me and made me love the series again. 4 doesn't look so great though. Maybe only odd numbered Toy Story movies can be good.

So this spork character is a thing that Bonnie makes, and it is alive. This raises questions. At what point in putting it together does it become alive? Considering that ths Japanese museum was willing to buy Als toys (2 of which were previously played with by children, not sure about Bulleye) then unopened Woodys, Jessies and Bulleyes must either not exist or be extremely hard to come by.
Maybe Andy will settle for a anniversary rerelease or something. At least a boxed Buzz Lightyear will be easy to find since they were overstocked to high hell in 2.

All the ones ive seen have the articulation molded in, but not actualized.

They did that with the last movie also. The rock creature and robot dudes have such cool designs, but most of the joints were molded. It sucks

Did they make it seem like this was the real ending to the franchise at the end, or was it setting it up for more adventures? The leak I saw online seemed like it was setting up for more movies, unlike 3 that felt like the true finale.

As a digital creation, Bo Beep’s plasticine sheen and feminine curves recall Robert Zemeckis’s eerie Welcome to Marwen, where female doll figures (whether heroic or villainous) came to life as representations of the social fears and psychopathology of its damaged protagonist, Mark Hogencamp (Steve Carell). Welcome to Marwen flopped because it fell between family-movie escapism and a social-justice victimhood tract. Zemeckis couldn’t navigate reality and fantasy and then trivialized the issue of post-traumatic stress by using superficial, high-tech placebo.

At least recognizing the desire to escape into childhood fantasy gave Welcome to Marwen substance worthy of viewers’ attention. Having exposed Hollywood’s animated anthropomorphic impulse, it relates to the current era of political hoaxes in which the struggle for political power (“control of the narrative”) reveals a loss of conviction and sense of futility.

But when Pixar introduces a new stuntman doll named Duke Caboom, he is redundant next to Buzz Lightyear. Duke Caboom offers nothing close to the giddy delight of that relentless, surreal, slapstick taxi-cab battle in John Wick 2. A less enjoyable franchise is perpetuated by Toy Store 4. Pixar continues to indoctrinate viewers into childish, compulsive consumerism.
