Got middleman photos of my little beast box grab bag. Looks like I got the cat notebook, Sakura Dio and the Computer Jojo. Probably be looking to trade or give away the extra Sakura and Jojo since I already have them. Don't know if anyone else here secured a bag as well. The bird mold is probably the best all around. It's got great articulation and is pretty sizable for the price, I honestly don't think you can go wrong with it.

The Dios are also pretty good and also the cheapest if you just want to try something out, but there's an updated version coming out so maybe not.

Not as far as I know. They could really do with an official website where all their past releases are cataloged. This picture is a bit outdated but has almost all of the released Beast Boxes so far except for a couple very rare Dios I'm still tracking down and the new Bird mold.

I haven't bought a Beastbox since the first three molds, but this bear is mine. I do wish it had wrist swivels though, without that a four-legged pose seems unlikely (even if the head can swing up enough)

Most Transformers just turn into useless cubes with wheels anyway. I like the uniformity of the cube altmodes, it's interesting seeing them get creative with all the possible transformations they can wring out of a single shape.

Also, $30 is whatever, you gotta expect this kind of stuff when you're supporting smaller companies. The likes of Hasbro and Bandai can afford to charge less because they're making massive runs at once.

I'm a simple man, but I've never regretted any of my Beast Box purchases. I collect a few lines that are a lot more expensive, but brought me far less enjoyment and heaps of disappointment. Its a big part of why I just dived right in and started hunting down every past figure I could get ahold of. The box form is really convenient for storage, display and for creating a uniform aesthetic. Its a design challenge to take a cool animal and translate it into a cube capable robot while bringing some animal specific gimmicks to the table.

On AmiAmi right now they have a pink and blue storage box with some package damage (but probably no product damage) on discount. Or you can get them pristine. Shipping can be a tiny bit obnoxious from there but almost guaranteed to be shipped safely. Maybe toss in a new figure to make the shipping more worthwhile.

Got my grab bag in. Everything arrived well except for a bit of package damage on the Computer Jojo but thats no big deal to me. I knew the little gun turret on Dio stored away nicely in his box form but it was a welcome surprise that Jojo's new gun stores perfectly inside of his chest in box form so you can store it all together. Really surprised me.

He's totally worth it. Plan to take some pictures of my recent buys here soon. Things have just been nuts with moving. I ended up putting this one in the green/yellow Alien contained and it matches absolutely perfectly. I then put the Alien in an extra blue container I had and it really works in a nice James Cameron's Aliens blue tint kind of way. In the next few days here I'll try and get some decent pictures of that and some close ups of the little Beast Box collector's coin and stuff like that.

Whats driving me nuts right now is trying to figure out if there is some way to get this Ninja Ghost Dog. I think it was released in co-operation with some other company during Wonderfest recently.

Not blown away by the colors either but the spider has a lot of cool looking features. We can usually expect lots of colorways but sometimes they are a bit slow to come out.

Someday Stryker will do a penguin icecube in translucent plastic with some blue to make them look like an actual ice cube. Someday...

Some cool looks at things from WF. For example we can see that incredibly cool looking orange Ghostdog is BB-02HD HellDiver. The spider looks to have some really amazing articulation and what I think might be a metal hook for his line.

Both the Elephant and Hippo are good but I prefer the hippo/rhino mold, it has transformation tabs that lock it in box mode and has 3mm-peg accessories that add to the play-value.

From Amazon specifically? They have just about every mold thats been produced so far and personally at least, none of them have been duds. I'd just go off what your favorite animals are, but if you want an actual opinion and not just a cop out, the Penguins and any DIO would be my suggestion. The bird is incredibly rad too though.

Basically I downloaded the 2.Taobao app on my phone. More or less its the Ebay side of Taobao with secondhand sellers rather than retailers. It appears to be the only way to actually browse and search for items on it. I saved the URL of the item page and just forwarded it to a middleman. Done.

That has to be part of it. When I normally put a toy away it just goes into a box in the closet. With these toys I put them back into their box charger and they're part of this big colorful structure that reminds me of how far my collection has come along. It really is satisfying.

I got done with my move and have some really cool Beast Box stuff on the way so I think when it finally gets here I'll take the time to get some decent pictures, show the whole collection off and probably giveaway a couple figures for shipping costs only. Have an extra Jojobs and Sakura Dio from the anniversary bag so they might as well go to one of my autistic brothers in this thread instead of Ebay.

Quite. Never had one break on me. At one point I got a Jojo where the arm fell right out of the groove and thought it was broken but it just slid right back in and the joint has been perfect ever since. Despite a ton of figures done in clear plastics I've yet to hamhand anything.

Yeah it sucks but I get it. There really isn't any way to make them fit and I'd rather have them than not. I just keep them in an extra Dio package with a few extra little things I have set aside. They went the extra mile with Dio 2.0 and Jojo 2.0 to make the new accessories fit in the box.

I really love his overall design. He fits in so well with Dio and is currently our only other dinosaur design. There is also something about him that has this tough but adorable look to it. Maybe its his little paws? So far they have yet to put out a mold that I would recommend skipping out on so I'd definitely say you should pick your favorite color and go for it. Really looking forward to that Brachiosaurus looking box as well so we can have another Dinosaur added to the line.

Where from? I got mine off the official Tmall shop but that was because I was doing a pretty huge order anyways. Off Amiami he's $18. Shipping will probably bring you close to that $26 if you go with EMS but it could rapidly become a good option if you grab another box or two cheaply at the same time. Otherwise I'd say sure, I wouldn't be too upset at paying that. He looks way too cool to miss out on. Things can be unpredictable with Beast Box. Sometimes a figure that looks like it will be gone fast stays in stock forever, and other times its sold out pretty quickly. Use your best judgement.

I feel like it's a bit steep seeing at the plastic quality and the finish on the grey parts look like cheaper gunpla plastic but also understand that it's an indie line so prices won't be that low due to production run.

It's really just the combination of this being a t rex robot that's cool and cute, with a cool color scheme that's making me interested in trying out the line.

First one? I hope you enjoy it! Echoblaster is one of the best for sure and has some really great articulation to boot. The only drawback whatsoever is that you don't get a storage cube, but hey, you do get a perch that will work with the cubes from the other boxes.

I'd rather it just costed more and had the box but hey. As for DIOs at least they are cheaper for not having the box so its a choice whether you go hunting for the standalone boxes. I can confirm that the Lobsters do come with boxes.

None of the Dios have come with a container, including the Ghostdog variants like the Shinobi. Actually, scratch that. One really early release exclusive to some sort of designer con came with an off the shelf plastic storage container packed with a bunch of decals for customization. I've thought about buying them when they occasionally show up for like $200 but I've never pulled the trigger. I might at some point if it ends up being the only thing I don't have.

I also think it was just a bigger box to celebrate the figure's release. As we can see with Shinobi, you can still fit the new Dio into the original small packaging. Really like the Ghostdog schematic.

And to differentiate it since its color scheme is almost an exact copy of the original, having a huge box makes it instantly clear to customers at a sore that this isn't the same version as the original. Going forward with new color schemes its not really necessary anymore.

Got my haul in today. Didn't have time to take pictures on my lunch break, but man these new bootlegs are super weird. In some ways they are a straight improvement on the original mold, and in others they are a downgrade. Lets start with the positives. For one thing the plastic quality feels much better than the old pink, blue and yellow bootlegs. They are covered in transparent pieces and some really nicely done tampo work.They feature a balljoint at the front toes so it can actually utilize a nice little range of motion. The back headplate is redesigned with little fins on the side that give these fake DIOS a slightly different look and actually hook into the little toe pads when its transformed into cube mode. There is also some new molding on the tail with a few raised sections that differentiate it.

Now for some of the drawbacks. While the new balljoint on the foot is cool, the back part of foot is totally static and cannot move at all anymore somewhat limiting the foot anyways. The arms are a single piece and the little claw on the end cannot move or be posed at all, its just a static stick arm. While the plastic quality is pretty good, the manufacturing or assembly process leaves a lot to be desired with lots of obvious nub and gatemarks, and some general dirtiness from assembly. The eyes aren't nearly as big and expressive and are a bit thinly painted and much smaller, almost making these guys look tired or bored. They also have a weird cleft palate sort of thing going as the upper shell of the face is sort of slotted onto this head piece but always has this lip poking down even when the mouth is closed, giving them a weird overbite look.

All in all they were a total steal for the cost and I kinda love them, but they are pretty weird. I'll have a bunch of detailed pictures tonight when I whip out my camera. I was just so floored by these dudes that I wanted to write something first.

Comparison of the eyes with my original bootleg Dio. You can see that on the bootleg and the normal Dios themselves, that the eye is a separate piece. On these new bootlegs its just molded right in and painted. The positioning is also different.

Some of the different colors. A lot of differences are noticeable in the mold. Another thing I found is that the bootlegs hips don't tab into the main body for stability, so the head fins are almost a necessity to keep the whole thing from feeling like an unsecured mess in box form.

Nice pics and mini-review. I wouldn't buy them, but knowing what's out there and how it differs from the original is very interesting to me. The clear parts look surprisingly good, but those eyes are horrible.

That pic isn't really a good way to judge, the Dio is much further in the foreground than Tony. You can even tell by how it's going out of focus a bit and Tony is super crisp.

Here's a Dio next to a ML and a standard can of soda. Pretty small. Dio is also the smallest Beastbox release, they moved to a bigger cube size right after him.

I got my first Beast Box today. It's much bigger than I expected it to be but I love it.
I like how he has little storage compartments for his accessories.

This SWAT Rhino is great. The plastic is so weird. it looks blue or black from a slight distance, but is actually a weirdly dark green. It looks so interesting when the light hits it the right way. This picture has a good example of it. I just hope we still have that Ambulance Hippo on the way because the Public services versions of the beast boxes are fantastic.

Yeah colours are weird sometimes.
Also I didn't realise those round things were meant to go in the side ports, I tried putting one in but I thought it was too big and didn't want to force it. What are they for anyway?

It's kind of a shame you can't buy the accessories separately; I'd love to have the option of a whole wind-up keyed lineup without needing extraneous rhinos for it. All the animal-shaped guns are also cute enough to warrant wanting more.

You never know. Stryker might be perfectly willing to do some accessory packs down the line. I'd be pretty open to it myself. One thing I'd really like is a switchpin of sorts so that you can connect beast boxes together.

You guys just reminded me how much This toyline is almost frustratingly reminiscent of Mugenbine.
When first reading up on these guys, I was honestly a little disappointed that they didn't combine together somehow (Something that I have since very easily gotten over, to be sure)
A sub-line of Beastboxes that could merge somehow would be pretty sweet. I'm excited for that construction vehicle combo for exactly that reason
