I recently found a nude 17" LE Princess Aurora doll which I'm turning into a 17" Britney doll. I bought a bag of rhinestones to recreate her diamond star flame bra. While searching for high res images of it online to use as reference I found that Madonna, and Gina Gershon from Showgirls have all worn a very similar looking bra. I was wondering if they all wore the same bra, and if the bra has an actual name that I could use to find better pictures of it or if it's just a pure coincidence that all three of them wore an almost identical looking bra.

What was your favorite Monster High line? For me, probably Freak du Chic. It was one of the darker MH lines and I love the bits of early 20th century aesthetic it had going on, the makeup and dress prints were on-point. I like when Monster High remembers the monster part.

The I <3 Fashion sets were always a highlight for me. I wish they added more characters to that line, especially a boy doll so we could get all those extra clothing options. They were TRU exclusives, so they were pricy, and they didn't seem to sell well in my area as they were always put on clearance after a while.
I was also a huge fan of Ghouls Rule, which seems to be an unpopular opinion.

Visited the dump today and saw lots toys and dolls just dumped there, when will Mattel make their first plastic free Barbie? I see a lot of coffee cups are now made from rice husk, looks and feels like plastic but is completely natural and naturally biodegradable so after two or three years of use she can be chucked on the compost heap. Not good for collector dolls as such I'd be interested in seeing what they come up with.

MGA on the other hand need an ass kicking for the amount of waste they are producing with LOL dolls. There's another surprise toy called Smashers which are figures in a plastic ball you have to slam on the ground and make shatter to get the toy out with the big plastic ball shards just going in the trash. Infuriates me.

How do you all feel about the upcoming BMR1959 Barbie line due in September? They're supposed to retail for about $25 a piece and the Kens are supposed to be MTM and have rooted hair, so it makes sense the Barbie's would as well.

These are the descriptions:

Barbie with bike shorts
Barbie with sock sneakers
Barbie with clear vinyl jacket
Barbie with denim jacket
Ken with topknot
Ken with green hair

It seems like a playline/collector in-between to capture what modern Barbie fans really want with the articulated bodies and more modern clothes. Sort of along the lines of the Style and Look collections. I have zero expectations for it to be good, coming from Mattel, but you never know.

ANYWAY haven't bought any dolls since my Sailor Moon haul last June, so a whole year and got the 60th Anniversary dolls minus the reissue basic career ones which I’m not interested in. Day to Night is also going for cheap these days so got her too to go with my Totally Hair repro, just annoyed her box came torn at the front but I’ll probably unbox her at some point anyway so not a big issue I guess.

Anyone else got any of the 60th line? Never see anyone mention it despite dedicating the last two threads to it. Was hoping for some more repros of the original 1959 and other favourites like the 50th did but that didn’t happen unfortunately. Still really happy with these releases though.

Anyway, you seem confused, let me start from the beginning. First off, I’m not that op. I used to make Barbie generals way back in 2009 or so and they were popular to begin with then died down as Monster High took off and then Frozen and Disney dolls became big again so I’d only make the Barbie threads when something big would come out. Then another op come along and merged Barbie and Disney in to their own single thread ‘fashion doll general’ and took ownership, I’d still take over and make new threads when they disappeared and would always get bitched at for taking over THEIR thing when it was actually me who seemingly started regular doll threads but thought whatever. I was also a regular op of Monster High general. Now that person has disappeared as of early this year, I have taken back over, where I can of course since other people started making the new threads as well which is fine, just keep them consistent. But yes, those threads are my recent ones. I want to be the op as much as possible but if someone does jump in then that’s fine, if I’m not bothered by it, then why are you exactly?

I have two. The clothes were nice quality in the early waves, articulation is decent, and most of the dolls have earrings (a detail I appreciate) but the line is brought down by a lack of stands and using nylon hair instead of saran. I never got any at full price though, they didn't grab me like Monster High did.

I've been here since way before the barbie, and Disney threads were merged together. I though you were the one who merged them. Why didn't ever comment on it? It's an... interesting SDCC set choice. I was all on board with this until I realized it was from the Nu-She-Ra cartoon and not just a stylized She-Ra to fit in with the old DCSHG aesthetic. Too bad.

I can't really see this selling well. That awesome SDCC exclusive She-Ra doll from a couple of years back didn't sell well. Nobody outside of basedbois and purple haired cat ladies likes the Nu She-Ra cartoon. So this is going to be a recipe for disaster. MAYBE Mattel is doing this because they're contractually obligated to support Nu She-Ra in toy form somehow. (Those action figures from Super 7 don't count.) This is the best way Mattel could show support to Nu She-Ra without breaking the bank on unwanted toys that will rot on shelves.

Nice box though.

That's because there isn't enough fanbase in burgerland and Mattel didn't do any measures to make it available overseas. They did sort of learn of it and they sell the Power Con through BBTS (which is also mainly burgerland based and their international shipping is expensive).

I wish they continue that Classic She-Ra line and sell it through Amazon at least.

Veni Vidi Dolli reviewed some the new DC Superhero Girls dolls (I truly miss Toy Box Philosopher) and as expected they're disappointing.

Bumblebee is probably the worst offender, as show in the pic her body looks nothing like the character design, in fact it's opposite with hips being big and the chest being smaller. The face resemblance is poor as well. Heck even in the box art one can see the doll looks nothing like the character what a joke.

Super girl is the best one out of the three. Her face isn't as bad as the initial "fish face" promo, she just need some few tweaks (both paint and sculpt) and her face will be accurate.
Her body resembles the character design quite well, however it suffers from few issues, mainly having chest toned down to Dyke-Ra flat. Mosquito bites anon was right; it's ironic how Mattel claim to be all for girl power yet seems to be afraid of femininity. Other issues is her claf should be thicker and so overall her body, thinner waist and bigger hands (looks like Mattel reusing MH hands, ugh).

It's annoying and frustrating how Mattel improved the DC boys line near it's death, while the DC girls line which they get to keep, is deteriorating. Just shows how Mattel views their female customers and belittle them.

I'm very bummed that the dolls sucks as I love the show and want to support it, but at the same time I don't want to lower my standards, especially for toys that based on characters I love. Maybe Mattel will create an action figure line like they did for the old show which would've better resemblance, hopefully.

Depending on the proportions, and if you don't mind having to have a search, collector Barbie clothes can be found for pretty good prices on eBay. Quality is pretty good but there's obviously a whole lot more options for women than men.

Descendants canon is a mess.

There's the book canon, which originally was its own thing, but by the third book they started incorporating the movie material into the book (making it a bridge between movie 1 and movie 2, rather than letting it be standalone) and dropped a bunch of the subplots and themes from the first two books. However, characters mentioned in the first 2 books that were dropped for the film or web series were erased from the book canon for books 3 and 4, and now the movie replacements are in the book series.

Then there's the web series, which makes changes to book canon and replaces certain characters.

And then the films which alter it even further.

I don't know what they were thinking.

They're already too late to rake in Normie cash. Lammily is half a decade old and still hasn't sold out of their first run. I really want to see them attempt to make "cute" clothes for that body, even Mattel can't do that for the curvy body unless they use skin tight polyester knit. You don't even see many OOAK fashions or patterns because it's almost impossible to get anything to look right.

It's an adult collector toy, while the Moose Toys one is a playline so of course it should be cheaper.

P.S. personally I wouldn't pay that much for Desktop Army either, I don't think it's justified price.

Full view of 3 out of 4 LOL OMG dolls.

Neonlicious look a lot nicer here, the yellow freckles are weird though. Swag is the prettiest doll wise (hair and makeup), but her clothes are too baggy, the shoes too bright and the bag is ugly. Lady Diva earnings (looks like part of here hair) and belt (it in the shape of her name) are stupid.

Anyway, turns out they don't have bendable knee like Barbie' NuFashionistas-and into the trash it goes.
