>>7601307I'm not interested in or follow nag so I'm not sure how often they release. I just know that it's so popular and expensive with the trend setters that it shows up in the title of other auctions along with iluilu(the popular one that I do like some of and spend money on), mvh, hxs, and others even though the toy being sold is none of those things. So you'll see auctions listed like SOFUBI RARE MVH NAGNAGNAG ILUILU LOOK!! In Japanese or whatever and really it's some $80 sofubi that no one cares about. I will say that I see a lot of sofubi that looks kind of like it so you shouldn't have trouble finding similar pieces for cheaper. Or, if you are really attached to the design, might as well grab a bootleg. It's super frowned upon in the sofubi circles but I have no fucking idea why, if you're only releasing 20 of a toy for $700 a piece you're just asking for someone to come along and make duplicates for $200 or whatever. These people should be making more. Just don't take pictures of it and put it online, you'll be blacklisted from future lotteries and possible trades.
It's a very small collecting world and I highly suggest you only buy things that really interest YOU. Try not to get caught up in the hype waves because this is an expensive hobby and outside of a small handful of artists reselling is nearly impossible. Yeah, it might be tough to get an item there's only 3 of, but outside of the handful of super popular releases/artists there's often only like 10 people that would ever buy it in the first place. I've dropped thousands on things in the spur of the moment at a show where it felt like an accomplishment because there were a bunch of people in a line behind me, then not been able to get rid of something I didn't completely love a year later for even half the price.
Overall I love the stuff though, there's so much and so much weird totally unique shit that you'll never see -anywhere- else in the toy world.
