Judging by that Wal-Mart TVC Mimban Trooper I have, yes. So much that I ordered a few TVC #140 Stormtroopers online (international anon) and a bunch of other figures to customize.

No see, Gul Dukat form Star Trek, that was a deep villain character. Vader is a backyard kiddie pool compared to the massive ocean that was Dukat. And the worst part? Vader's habit of killing Imperials probably did more to up rebel recruitment and treason than anything else. Why be loyal when you'll get choked?

In Hindsight, SW has some really shitty writing and bad ideas brought about from little planning and prequel/EU filling in of shit to explain the dumb parts.

From a technical stand point its Disney, Hasbro has been transparent they control most releases and even have shared they have very little control over anything made outside of the Black series which Disney only cares what they do with it when their is a film rolling out, everything else and the Hasbro reps make it sound like Disney has a full effect on what gets made.

Just got the TVC Crait Luke and Death Star Gunner.

DS Gunner has a nice new body. I head swapped it to make an officer.

So many things wrong with crait luke, the rubber cloak sucks and he can't stand well. I cut off the cloak and waist area to allow full articulation of the legs. Planning on adding some soft goods to improve the look.

I can tell you one reason SW collecting is such a bitch now- no one wants to pay anything for loose figures. I've tried to sell loose toys on eBay in lots, priced at $2-$3 in lots of 3-6, and no one buys. It's that fucking "watch an item but never buy it even though it's a super bargain" bullshit eBay users do. Yet they'll pay $15 each for the same figures carded. It's killing interest in owning them when they can't be sold for dick if you want to get rid of the things, making the line a huge money pit to get into to begin with, as it's a guaranteed massive loss if you lose interest.

and selling individual is even harder, because no one wants to spend $3.50 to ship a $2 toy. You can sell maybe 10% of your stuff that way. Offering combined shipping is talking to the wall, it's the same as small lots, no one wants to get a batch of figures, not even army builder characters.

Got my Tank Commander and Death Star Gunner in from Pulse today. Pretty sure I'll never see these in stores, so I'm glad Hasbro's site is coming through on these.

I ideally wanna focus on the background more than just the figures - to show that they exist in a full world around them.

I can make the shots look cleaner by cropping them to just the figures but its a waste of the good backdrop and background details.

No, I meant what was the alternative Phasma you were considering. I understood that you were considering getting a delicious chrome Mafex Phasma vs getting a cheaper Phasma plus a Brienne cause you were on a fixed budget. Maybe I misinterpreted you.

The Bandai kits are fully chromed as well and considerably cheaper than Mafex. Drawbacks are that you need to paint the gun and the black parts of the gloves since both things are fully cast in chrome and you need a cape since the ones provided suck.

There's no hope. Here in Texas, HEB grocery stores were one of the last places that was still getting new-ish TVC shipments, waves 2 and 3 were showing up in the last few months. HEB was the only place that carried the last Solo Force Link wave in reasonable numbers. Now even they're eliminating TVC and TBS at a lot of stores.

I think it’s a price thing. We got an R2 with the same sculpt, a clean paint job, and more accessories in the Last Jedi line a year ago and he was 5 dollars less. If you’re gonna make R2 full price he should be packed with every accessory he uses in the movie like the Black Series figure to justify that cost.

God Hasbro dropped the ball big time on retail with that terrible first wave. I'm always on the look out at my H-E-B store, Hell, I even ordered my own case of that Solo wave just to get some figures to chop up to customize. I hope we at least get to see the wave after next hit pegs for the holidays. SDCC is coming up, so here's hoping they won't fuck over the 3.75" scale once again.

im pissed that the ball wasnt even picked up to even drop. Wave 1 rots away at the big 2 retailers( with the Trooper Han disappearing after Fathers day to boot), and smaller chains seem to be getting some progress, but not much past 2 or 3.
somebody mentioned Kroger, but the nearest one is a 2 hour drive and i want to be sure its a treasure trove before making the trek. i would order more online but my mom is nosy and goes through my mail and acts cunty if she sees any figures.

It can't stand up.
The feet are too floppy.
I haven't got it to stand for at least 24 hours yet.
The cape is crap, missing the insignia.
The plastic in the joints is loose so the arms move on their own.
The articulation sucks and the forearm looks like it will break.

A bit, yeah. He's supposed to be shorter than a regular R2 unit, but beyond that have the same basic proportions. TBS Chopper is pretty wide compared to TBS Artoo, though I think they made TBS Artoo too small. I think the issue isn't that TBS Chopper is too wide, but that they made him too big overall. His proportions look right, but since he's oversized and Artoo and the other astromechs are undersized, he looks off.

Found both the new TBS and archive waves at Target. Surprisingly, Anakin was the only one missing from the archive wave, there were still two Mauls, two Yodas, and one Biker Scout.

The TBS wave was fully intact except for Ezra. Both Obi-Wans and both Choppers were there, though I'm baffled that someone would want the lone Ezra but leave both Choppers.

This. TBS Artoo is too small and not worth it for the insane prices he goes for. You could get the Bandai kit that also comes with R5-D4 and get two droids that scale much better with TBS than the actual TBS Artoo for a better price.

Sad, but not surprising. Hasbro made pretty much every bad decision possible with the relaunch. We all knew form the beginning that stacking the first wave with a bunch of repacks of things still readily available the year before was a really bad idea. Even worse, Hasbro acknowledged that the first wave has to be strong because that's the one that's going to be ordered the most, hence if the first wave is full of duds they're going to be around for a while. And then they proceed to make a wave full of duds.

What hope is there for 3.75 at this point? Making it an online exclusive? Will they even bother making new figures for such a line? As it is it's already heavy with repacks, and that's with strong retail support.

Hell, Palpatine himself has never been a huge seller. Of course a character who exists only to be a cheap knockoff of him would be a dud. I still think Snoke would've done okay if he'd been left to wave 2 or 3, he'd still be a slower seller but he'd be on par with Solo Han or Cassian where you'd see maybe a couple of him at each store instead of this massive pegwarming infection you got by putting him in wave 1.

It's designed to be a stand-alone continuation of the movies. The only notable things coming before it are the X-Wing Rogue Squadron books and comics and Thrawn trilogy but they don't play a role in Dark Empire.
I would only like to warn you that the third part of the trilogy was cut down from 6 issues to 2 issues and thus has a very rushed ending. For some it's also easier to stomach the weirder parts of the story when put in context with the 80s Marvel comics than with only the movies. It's definitely one of the better parts of the EU.

The imperial civil war mentioned in the crawl text was never actually depicted in a story and is only put in as an excuse to explain why Coruscant was part of the New Republic in the Thrawn trilogy (9 years after Yavin) while it is imperial controlled in 11 after Yavin.

TVC's revival has been so disappointing. Not everything in the line previously was gold (there were plenty of mediocre repaints and even a few fresher duds) but they put out a lot of new figures that remain great. I really expected and hoped the revival would continue that trend.

My biggest issue is the price and how hard they are to find now. They only way to get a hold of them is basically online. I am pretty sure they will phase the line out, like they did with the BS version. I am not a collector of TVC, but I do think it's a good line and a great fan service. What annoys me is that Hasbro said that it would only be repack-heavy at the beginning, and that once TVC got going we'd be seeing more new or at least partially new figures. Turns out that was a lie and it's been almost endless repacks, a lot of them using shoddy faceprinting (which works in 6 inch but rarely looks good at 3.75 scale) to justify calling them new. Not that it even matters now, since retail is abandoning it. Even if it continues as an online exclusive, it's just going to be even more repacks because the lack of mass retail support means they won't be able to justify new sculpting as easily.

It suffers from all the weapons being knee height or lower.
Fucking dumb, almost at the level of the Cobra Rage tank.

At least designs like this had the turret being able to rise and lower, which is a neat feature and takes a little suspension of believe where it works out. Whereas that Rogue One tank is basically just some transport that offers no protection and barely workable guns.

With ATATs, they're said to have super armor that makes them invulnerable to cannon fire and had no problems walking slowly toward heavily armed defensive trenches. IT's only when they got tied up that they had problems and only a single ATAT got knocked down from that, despite a squadron of snowspeeders trying to get at them.

The tank had to level a building by shooting at the first floor just to get at some shooters on the roof. No turret, so it had to swivel around to make that shot and it got its shit stomped by people shooting down and throwing explosives down on it.

Storywise, ATATs were kickass. The tank was the opposite, but that was its purpose for dramatic effect. Originally was supposed to be a hover thing, but they needed a crawly thing to move through the streets to get ambushed.
... do you see how nuStar Wars is full failure in terms of merch? Kids don't like losers.

I mean, i like the design too, hence my buying it (mostly for use as background support vehicle), but it exists solely to be beat up and that doesn't go well with kids.

Imagine the skill necessary for that, first the pilot has to be able to fly at least three times around the walker who can give each other cover fire in their caravan and don't even need to pay attention to the soldiers and turrets in the trenches at the base. Then the gunner has to shoot and hit with the cable gun at least three times because one cable did nothing to slow the walker down. Then there is the question if your cables are even strong enough for this stupid idea and why would you even maintain airspeeders with cable guns in the first place? I can't get sold on the idea that these things can move cargo with their cables and it's obvious that the rebels didn't design Snowspeeders specifically as anti-AT-AT weapons when only one of them tried that cable maneuver. There are far more issues with Snowspeeders existing at all than AT-ATs whereas the worst thing you can say about it keeping its intention in mind is that it obviously generate enough energy to mount more guns and turrets on it that should point from its sides and back.

You have to remember that air speeders are basically just cars and such in the Star Wars universe, but objects are still placed on the ground and will need to be moved around by the ground as well.

Anyway, snowspeeders existing just makes Star Wars a little more believable. it's like how the army doesn't have just one armored vehicle or one jet. There's a multitude of military equipment that exists to fill various roles and niches.
This is why there's such a fight against multi-role jets/vehicles/boats, because they dont get the job done properly and seen as inferior to specifically made equipment.

Repulsorcrafts like Landspeeders makes more sense for towing or carrying cargo and have always been used in this capacity. Airspeeders are for scouting and faster travel or cities like Coruscant which are rare.
It also still doesn't explain why the cable has to be shot like a harpoon when airspeeders have slower hover modes as demonstrated when they left the hangar in TESB where they can act like repulsorcraft. It appears the cable gun was specifically made to counter AT-ATs but was only used in that one battle and only that one scene (video games excluded since they are always of doubtful canon status).

As for harpoons, that's all you saw. There's no reason it shouldn't also have an option to just do it by hand. I'm sure there's a bunch of towwers who wish they could shoot a magnetic line from the comfort of their cab.

Also, since they're air speeders, using it while youre in the air means there's no way to really do it by hand. Hence, that harpoon.
Come on, it's not hard to be creative.

Also, the fact that that gunner in the back is facing backwards shows it's probably used for something else that requires a worker to always be looking backwards.
it's really clever in how fucking ghetto the rebels are in Star Wars. The snowspeeders are nothing more than technicals like toyotas in Africa being used as APCs and IFVs.
Nothing but cobbled together junk... which the nuWars took literal with those stupid B-wings that look like orcs put it together and there's no WAAAGH to keep it from wobbling apart, instead of a solid chunk human ingenuity like the snowspeeder.

Holy shit this, it's been fucking years and Sideshow and BBTS run these huge "please get them the fuck out of our inventory" sales with special promo codes all the time and they're still there because no one fucking wants them.

Makes me so mad this Disney shit is what's constantly available instead of better OT or PT troopers, what a shame.

It's not just the design and looks that are garbage but their articulation too, with a bulky undersuit that restricts movement so that you might as well get a statue at that point with how limited the range of motion is, I bet the new Sithtrooper will suffer the same flaw because HT doesn't care anymore

Finally got TLJ and unmasked TFA Kylo for the same reason and because they were so ludicrously cheap.
It's funny how the heads are aesthetically much better fits after a headswap. Now they really look like a Sorcerers evil Apprentice and a Prince of Darkness. Too bad the faceprinting didn't exist earlier, hopefully I can fix it myself some time. Though interesting to see that Hasbro did step up their game between the movies with better paint apps and plastic, the TFA head looks like a prototype in comparison to the newer figures.

Top 5 worst figures of all time.
It doesn't work at all. The fabric is wrong, the headdress doesn't stay on, the articulation sucks.

The head sculpt is the only good thing about it.

Is there anyway to make a better custom?

Appearance-wise it's pretty good and I think the articulation is ok/decent, but it's definitely not a fun toy compared to say, TVC Aayla Secura. If you just have it sit on a shelf with the rest of your jedi it blends in nicely and looks good with Barriss. The silhouette is on-point. I think her actual movie cloak and skirt would be too hard to replicate in toy form anyway, considering it has all those intricate patterns and whatnot.

My main problem with it is actually just the face. Not the face sculpt, but just the paint. Her lips are too thin and the eyes just don't pop out at all.

It might not be for that long, but given Solo and Rebels take place several years apart, it's still possible he got stuck on Malachor for a good while.

It wouldn't matter, TCW was produced entirely at Lucasfilm. WB only distributed the movie and CN only aired the show, neither had any actual involvement in the production or any kind of ownership over it.

Since this one still ends in failure anyway, I don't see what the problem is. It's still consistent with the idea that Maul can't seem to hold onto anything. We don't even know how long he had it.
