>>7667694Regarding more Mortal Kombat I think they said they want to see how sales are first before committing to more. While I understand where they're coming from, I'm not sure how good of an idea that is. Like with Saitama and One Punch Man as a series, they said they're going to have that wait and see approach. But then, how many people are going to want a standalone Saitama without knowing if we're also going to get Genos, Boros, Tatsukmaki, etc, and how many more would get him if they knew all that was coming in the same line? So in this case, yes, Scorpion and Sub-Zero are the flagship characters, but many people like having a solid collection right off the bat, so what if it was these two and Liu Kang and Kitana to start? That's a much stronger lineup to start and will, in my opinion, get more people to commit to the line.
For Fortnite, we knew much more was on the way right off the bat. For My Hero we know of 4 figures on the way right off the bat for a nice little collection. Having these sets incentivizes purchases of the line vs wanting just individual figures. Not to mention, you're always going to get more buys from the most popular characters for those one off buys, but that won't necessarily equate to sales of future, lesser known characters, so seeing how Scorpion and Sub-Zero do might not even be that great of a metric. At some point I think it's worth having faith in the license and committing to it. If McFarlane commits to it, then so can their customers.
