>>7688543I want all the 5poa and this mangled abortion of a revived VC to die...but I will miss being able to drop into a Wal-Mart and grab a figure or two. Why can't it all be 12-14 POA? Why the hell did they make the Kessel Kardboard Katastrophy? What happened to when star wars figures where a mix of iconic and obscure?
And most important, why are they so hesitaby to go big at retail? No Battle packs, vehicles, or anything to build my fucking Galaxy from a far off time in a far off place.
I know nothing about all the political or manufacturing stuff, but from what I see, its dying because its too thinned out. 2 different 5 POA lines, big and small "collector" lines, a soon to be 5 inch line, Hot Wheels car OCs and die cast vehicles, mini rubber fucks, a vintage waste that was DOA, lightsabers, Nerf guns, and Barbie Dolls.
A decade ago, when I had to choose between a lightsaber, a 12 POA figure/ battle pack, or a vehicle, it felt nice because I knew that the future looked bright, as the figures kept getting better and better. There was a focus. My 10 year old brain couldn't fathom a better Star wars figure than the Gammorean Guard, and I must have been right, because its being reissued, along with the same han and Luke from when I was a kid. I bought them because it felt cozy, but that soon changed to a cold feeling of familiarity. I dont need Hasbro to make foam over a wire skeleton figures to blow me away again, they just need to put effort back into what made me love the figures to begin with: fun toys
