QC, color mismatches, etc can be fixed WITHIN the next release. If they continue running that course, it's because they don't care and/or too cheap.
Despite releases being concurrent or staggered, a company can and has stopped current productions to fix various issues. Some companies, mostly known from kickstarters because of how transparent they are, get someone else in there to fix them.
