Kids are more into LOL Surprise than these dolls, and they don't really like taking their toys out of the house the way a kid might with an American Girl doll. They have tablets to entertain themselves with now. Honestly kids don't even like Barbie anymore. These two brands just are not "in" anymore.
I think Mattel likes to tell themselves that kids don't like dolls but clearly MGA has proved that's not the case. Kids just don't like ugly, shitty quality dolls that don't appeal to them in any way, shape, or form. The blind box toys are fun because they're a surprise. Girls like dolls that dress in fashion forward clothing. You can't trick kids into thinking tie-dye and skirts over jeans is cool anymore. They have Instagram and Pinterest. They know what's in.
