I'm not really into figurines, in fact I don't have any, but I really enjoyed KLK and was thinking of getting one for my desk. Any reason not to go with the ones from China off eBay if your not a collector? It says it's the same brand as the $150 ones, but we all know how that goes.

If the former then you should be alright but if the latter you could snap a peg more easily depending on the figure.

Really the main problem I have found with bootleg figures is the joints are loose and sometimes won't hold a pose. My experience is low, though, I only have two bootlegs.

Overall if the figure is $150 and you want a desk toy for $20 I'd go for the bootleg.

That's what it sounded like. Bootleg should do you fine, then. The stands that come with bootlegs are usually really loose, but just take a mini screwdriver and tighten the screws along the stand and it'll work like a dream.

150 bucks isn't a good price for a figure that's been released twice in its lifetime. It is a good figure, but the extra cash coupled by dealing with a Chinese seller isn't worth the money or the stress of waiting.

I suggest looking for a Nendoroid Ryuko. She's good for table decor, has some articulation, comes with special limb poses and a few face plates.

A lot of the chink sellers of this bootleg of this are actually decent enough to use photos of the bootleg in their listing (tons of bootlegs just use the actual companies advertisment photos).
So you can at least get a decent idea of what it will look like. I;d imagine there is obviously a not small chance of the one you get looking a little worse, but overall bootleg figmas aren't too terrible.

Figma knockoffs are a hit or miss depending on the figure, if you don't own any figmas you won't know what the standard quality is, so the most likely shitty paint-job and awkward looking face (Vast majority of knockoff faces look idiotic) probably won't bother you.
So if you want a representation of the character for cheap I say go for it, not like you'll display her with other expensive toys or anything anyway.

I owned the official one. The armor cracked when I put the stand in its back and the sword feels like it was made of the cheapest plastic possible. I can only dread to think of how much worse a KO could actually be.

that's why you get those cheapo cameras that use micro SD cards, like the SQ-11, and set them up. Some have motion sensors to activate or can be turned on and easily hidden out of sight.
