Nothing wrong with this 3 pack. Even the Wolverine is an upgrade. Better shade of Yellow, damaged alt head and 2 sets of clawed hands. Have to admit Kinda bummed Cyclops doesn't have an optic blast of any kind. Would have been happy with like an "energy burning off the visor" that the Mezco or X-Factor Cyclops have.

That's actually a really good idea, I was never that happy with the more modern Magik look. (I'm not sure anyone else is either, whenever I see other side stories with Magik they tend to put her back in her New Mutants outfit.) Also since Walgreens are still flooded with Ilyana figures I can grab a second to try and remove the antlers.

If I got really ambitious, I could also probably borrow parts and the sword from her bad Toybiz figure and repaint some stuff for her partially armored look, or even the whole partial Dark Child look.

To be fair, I think we're mostly just seeing a sudden burst of semi-obscure ones because it's been a while since they could go all-out on X-men and because MCU's current phase is wrapping up, and also they're releasing a lot of figures in general at once to slide them in before tariffs take effect. I feel like the waves after these won't be quite as interesting, and especially since the figures might be more expensive for them after this post-tariffs, I worry they won't risk it as much on a lot of other obscure picks unless these current ones sell really well.

I know I'm in the minority on this, but I actually feel a little conflicted on this Doom figure. It's comic book Doom, but he's designed very realistically with all the texturing and such. I kind of was hoping for something slightly more cartoony looking.

Still an amazing figure, though. Just not sure if I'll pose him with my comic-based figures. He'll be keeping my MCU figures company, instead. Hell, I'll be over the moon if this is actually how he ends up looking in the MCU, come to think of it.

I want him to be intro'd as a serious FF villain, then get a standalone where he's somewhat benign and even a little goofy, just going about his day to day life ruling Latveria. This movie would be played a little bit tongue-in-cheek, with Doom throwing parades, kissing babies, and tossing dissenters in the dungeon. The central conflict would be relatively small-scale. Reed would show up several times to try to assist with the conflict at hand, and would end up squabbling childishly with the pompous, prideful Doom.

The funny thing is that I just got done reading one of the later New Mutants trades with some notes about how the characters were first designed, and it went into detail about how Dani and Wolfsbane were given different builds, so it's kind of ironic that now they're just headswaps. If you want a bunch of Xmen characters right now, Legends is the only way to go. That being said, some figures like Psylocke, Cyclops, and Rogue are really expensive because you’re coming in late.

Alternatively, Amazing Yamaguchi has made versions of Wolverine, Gambit, Psylocke, and Magneto. Mafex is working on a Wolverine and a Cyclops. Mezco has made a few Xmen as well. Those are pretty much your only options.
