Good articulations, even the pipes and the "jaw" on the back can move.

Not a crawler, indeed. It's more about the "weird humanoid" side of the xenomorph, like in artworks, than the "hunter" side of the monster.

So my Iron-Spider finally arrived.
The figure is pretty good and i'm satisfied with it, seems to be able to do pretty much everything my Comic Version Spidey can.
The waldo joints are fragile as hell. Definitely going to replace them with some revoltech joints.

The tier list is
NECA > MAFEX > FIGMA > SHMA
NECA captures the overall presence of the big chap best.
MAFEX hits the core notes but is let down by QC.
The figma is stylized so mileage will vary, but was overpriced in the great reee pay me for my sculpting hikes.
The SHMA was just kind of overall dissapointing and limp.
Can't judge the revo never held it.

Their big chap was a turning point for improvement for base body Xenos, a far cry from what their quality control generally was untill 2015, outside of oddballs with the Kenner stuff.
And furthermore, MAFEX having comparable QC to a line that retails for 20USD, much like the SH Monsterarts line tends to also do, should speak a hell of alot more to the line charging 3 times the price.

I own Comic Spidey and his wrists have given me zero trouble. Every figure released will have some portion of the batch suffer QC issues. There is a clear difference between a widespread major qc defect(Iron spider) and a random smattering of other shit that only affects 2% of the consumer-base.

Actually i just receveid an e-mail from Hobbylink, i asked if there was anything that could be done about the waldos, they said they are aware and that they can't replace them now, but Mafex will re-release an improved version of the figure some time between August and September and then they (HLJ) will get extra back parts to send to costumers who called for help, so i guess this is both good news for people like me who already have and also for those who want it without issues.

Anyway, i gotta agree with you, the masked head is spot on, also, no picture i take can do justive to how it shines under sun light.

I never understood paint jobs like this, or at least I don't like them at all. Yeah it's nice to look at from one angle, but light never really hits the figure/body the same way for every pose. I want my figure to cast natural shadows instead of having prepainted ones

Yeah, I don't get it, either.

The whole point of shading in a 2D image is to replicate the effect of light hitting an object as if it were 3D, but a 3D object will have its own shading naturally.

I was kind of hoping if and when they did an alternate color of mafex comic spidey it would use more of a metallic black color that had a slight blue sheen to replicate the comic style, but they settled on this meme-tier stylistic choice.

The shadows that are naturally cast on the figure aren't enough to throw off the look. It doesn't bother me because the simulated light is supposed to be what you're thinking of as the light on the figure.

Just received my Iron-Spider today and one of the waldoes snapped near the tip rather than the base. The paint there was heavily fused to the joint.

To be fair, his assertion that Miles was always written badly until the movie is true though. He was always just a black Peter Parker with a few additional powers. I feel like the movie really gave him his own voice finally and made him a character I can actually enjoy. Same with the PS4 game. Maybe it's just because Bendix wrote 90% of comic Miles.

They should generally be able to do so just fine. It's pretty common at cons like that to use stands or other means of support just to make sure they stay up all day in haphazard poses where people might be trying to touch them, tables get bumped, etc. Plus a lot of times these are painted or even unfinished prototypes that may not have solid joints.

He appears to be a lil chunky around the middle. Not too much, but that sorta matches the movie, in certain shots his gut really sticks out (when it's comedic to) and in other shots he has a relatively trim silhouette.
