DON'T GET YOUR HOPES UP BUT there is a new theme that got leaked,we don't which theme are these set numbers from,it could be Troll or Minions though 14 sets seems a lot for both of those themes. Leaf is a code name,people speculated they could be plant accesories but those get different numbers and these are set number. No idea what it could be.

Btw,Hidden Side gets 10 sets next year so we still have original themes.

2016 Bionicle ended at 71300-71316 , but then we got some 2017 Dimension sets from 71340-71349.

I am just guessing here based on set numbers what those 14 sets might be , Bionicle and Dimensions set numbers are just very similar for 2016.

I can't find any other set numbers used from 713xx-72000 however (72001-72006 is the small 2018 Nexo Knights wave).It's not Minions from what I know and not Trolls either because those start with 75 and the jewelry theme Dots starts with 41.

It was a cool idea, but no set of it killer it. The Toa Metru didn't have anyone to fight against save for each other (and the Matoran I guess) until the Summer wave rolled out.

I feel Morbuzakh wouldn't be so hard to build these days thanks to CCBS.

Not only that, but using a mix of standard system and technic by thinking outside the box, and having new molds only be stuff like masks or weapon, would be great. Shit limit it just to masks at that point, you could make a weapon out of technic and system pieces.

I'm the only one Who misses small G1 figures size or first HF size? I feel like the G2 figures were WAY too big and expensive. I think they should go for smaller figures in The future and G2 size ruined the titan class

To be fair that was the kind of the same in G1 too. The Bohrok Va were the only full wave of small villains. There were the Kra-Matoran and a few evil Agori and Stars. I guess you can call the Metru Matoran antagonists, but that's it. Small sets have always been disproproprtionately heroic.

That said, I'm curious to see what would the small 2017 have been. Apparently the Shadow Realm was the location for 2017. G2 Shadow Matoran?

As I remember the Inika/Mahri story was initially supposed to have a third year (2008). Which brings me to the second point.

So let's pretend that. What I wonder is, would the main antagonists have been the Makuta anyway, or would another villain type/team have taken the role?

I guess what I'm trying to say between the lines is that maybe, just maybe at one point the Shadow Toa idea was suggested, and maybe, just maybe, a full team was considered as 2008's canister villain wave. Then Ignition 3/proto-2008 was scrapped and replaced by the Karda Nui Arc. The Shadow Toa idea stuck, and Ahkmou was picked as a representant. And then that got scrapped as well. My guess is that that little piece of shit Vultraz filled the spot.

The ultimate truth is just one: it's all speculation and there's not much point wondering. I'm sure that whatever was initially planned for Jaller's team in 2008 was scrapped, very very early on to make room for the Karda Nui plot.

Maybe they would've invested more into time-related gimmicks, since I would hope that by the final third year Lego would need to come up with some stuff to more prominently feature the top half of Vahi. There are two hour-long stop-motion movies covering Voya Nui and Mahri Nui sagas by Noah Productions on Youtube. While the first one straight up adapts the 2006 story more faithfully than the comics, the second one even includes the serials, which show just where the secondary characters like Lesovikk have been fucking around all this time. So yeah, if you have some spare time, watch that, since they are very faithful, even if a bit amateurish coming from the Miramax movies.
Starting with 2008 it all gets a bit confusing. Nobody adapted the full story yet, so your best bet is to read the comics to get the general gist of things, then move on to serials to get the bigger picture (And it's a big fucking picture alright). Same with 2009 and 2010, but the story ends on a cliffhanger in 2010 serials. I dunno if there were any chapter books past 2006 that weren't meant for kids, so you'll have to do your own research there.

If you stopped in 2006, then you should pick up with Legends #6 and go from there, though I still suggest the Ignition movies by Noah. Comics are mainly the same story with a large chunk of events cut out.
Other than that, there are the kids books which are skippable (Except maybe "Journey of Takanuva" for 2008) and short stories by Greg. Among those I suggest reading "The Kingdom" which picks up on Takanuva's story and then goes into the "Dark Mirror" serial. There is also "Many deaths of Toa Tuyet" but that is honestly a mindfuck and Tuyet doesn't come into play in any meaningful way anyway.

That set looks good, but Mixels are in a whole another league above it.
Colorful schemes, creative builds, great assortment of parts, Mixels had all of those and introduced the small ball joint connectors, they aren't dogshit.

A few minutes later, two rubber bands on the Mana Ko have snapped and both of the gears driving the claws have fallen out (most likely because I fucked up the build somehow, pretty sure they shouldn't do that), and one of the Kuma-Nui's neck bones is literally broken in two. He didn't even do anything other than use the designated action features, I was watching the whole time.
Guess those were some old-ass pieces I got from BL for these old-ass sets.

Go to Brickset. They have database with pictures. After you've found out what set the mask is from, go to Bricklink and check the part inventory. Unique weapon molds is also pretty good way to figure out the sets, unless it's something Lewa's katana or Takanuva's blade

Old black Lego rubber bands haven't aged well. If I ever put back my old sets that have them, I'll probably use replacements, either official ones or just normal ass loom bands. Never built Kuma Nui myself, but if the action feature is as violent as Muaka & Kane-Ra, no doubt the parts break

I initially thought minifig hands sould give me the desired effect, but their angle isn't sharp enough. Robot hands have way more flexibility that allows for strange half connections that are more solid than you think. It's the flimsiest part of the mask for sure, but it stays put well enough as long as you're careful.

So, at first I handwaved minifigure arms because they are less "accurate", but seeing as the whole thing is Lego bricks and is never going to be perfectly accurate anyway, I realized that's a silly metric of quality. Turns out that It's better to go with what looks best, even if that means the details are a little stylized. Until now, the mask has looked very flat from the side, and I like the additional depth that minifig hands add to the jaw assembly.
