SDCC has just passed. Over 17 new SPECIES announced for 2020, not counting repaints.

I’m sure the Therizinosaurus will find it’s way into collectors’ hands at some point. Another figure I really wish got a release is the Destructasaurs Dimetrodon. That mold looks so good in red.

Oh damn yes. The red variant looked so menacing. Still, I am happy we got a dimetrodon at all though, even though distribution of it seems kind of scarce for some reason. Not a figure I have seen pop up a lot, which is a petty. It's really beautiful.

Because the remold isn't that much better. Sure it has a much better head sculpt, bigger body, better color scheme, but they fucked up by keeping the shitty legs and the skinny tail which makes it prone to warping and balancing issues.

Can't believe we're stuck with either the Kenner or the old Hasbro for a decent Allosaurus.

Damn we could really use a super poseable or EC indominus rex to many gimmicks take away from the playability and movie accurate stances. D&D Indominus doesn’t even have all the movie accurate sounds just 3 and to others that are just retarded and not based in reality much less the movie.
As always the tail is too short. The sculpt is mostly accurate but is limited by the gimmicks most unfortunately.

I’m honestly pretty let down by the Amber Collection JP Raptor. The color scheme is just so bland for a 30 dollar figure. Was kinda hoping for a bit more detailed paint. The Kenner Raptor honestly captures the raptor’s color more by comparison.

That wasn’t a compliment. The Kenner raptor is a decades old figure. This collectible figure should have a bit more to it’s paint scheme. Especially when you compare it to the Blue from the same line.

In that case I'll elaborate on my first guess which I came to based on the first name having an 'N" as a bridge between those two "C"s, like they were initials for one of the electronic "deluxe" toys like the Thrash n Throw Tyrannosaurus or Destroy n Devour Indominus Rex. It's all Cs though, but I don't want to jump to the obvious and say it's Carnotaurus; the Primal Attack version is basically a lite version of the "deluxe" range.

Well looking at their products of creatures it's pretty damn accurate what Neca makes, especially proportion wish.
Necas products have outstanding paint application also...

Some Mattel JW dinos have such small tails what destroys the whole look of the dinosaurs, and the paintjob is so so poor. And omg all those paint errors on the eyes...

Main issue with neca and creatures are the eyes, as long as the figure is forward facing they tend to be alright but get something like the new legendary Godzilla and you'll have one eyeball looking up and one looking backwards

I honestly wouldn’t call the Matty paint jobs bad as a whole. While some figures, like the Carnotaurus or Ceratosaurus, have nice (or at least a more “distributed”) paint jobs, others have really bare paint jobs or look really garish (while still having less paint than many would like).

That lack of paint on the Albertosaurus is a shame, especially since they painted small portions of its top and underside. I honestly dig the figure, but I really agree with you. The short tail and lack of paint really hold back an otherwise cool figure.

Bandai does not even show any gunpla at the toy fair. Heck they barely show anything there because their audience is not kids so they don't have as much reason to show off product to media and potential investors that Toy Fair attracts. They usually show off their american distributed action figures at the Comic Con. And in Japan they have their own personal event they show stuff at, kinda like how Blizzard rarely shows much at E3 because of blizzcon.

That award is handled by toy fair so you don't do stuff there, you dont get the award.

For mattel and articulation wise personally i’d pick the BD velociraptor blue. Favorite paint job is the orange S2 raptor. Kenner the chomping and screaming are both great. Different anon but for me personally I keep everything in the packaging/box, but I put everything in the collection out on display as play value for me is non existent but toy design and package design are interesting to look at. I will sometimes get double of something so I canopen one and set up an individual scene next to a sealed box. I don't care about al these new dinosaurs. I wish the focus was on a few dinosaurs that we all know and love with rich accurate paint and materials (belly painted, all the nails, to the tip of the snout to the tip of the tail). And dino-damage. What Kenner did but updated accurate sculps. Less is more.
