>>7680269>MP's are tailored to match lower detail cartoon models while Generations has more details/molding.Pretty much this. A hypothetical Generations Star Saber could offer a lot more play value as well:
* a modernized aesthetic (not so smooth and boxy, some greebles, mechanical detailing)
* less chromed shit
* standardised gimmicks (eg Brainmaster as Titan Master, 5mm ports, effect ports)
* IDEALLY a better V-Star mode, because the MP's V-Star is just a hollow shell, so the Generations could probably be closer to a Siege armor-up sort of transformation
* Actually, the V-Star is just shit
* Less engineering taken up by the Brainmaster gimmick for Saber's bot mode. Just plug in a Titan Master, and away you go!
* Saber could theoretically use a TR mold like Misfire as a base for a retool. No need to reinvent the wheel, just add some ports to plug him into the V-Star
* you could cross-sell Victory Leo as a Weaponizer (he partsforms in the original), which could be remolded/repainted into Leobreaker as an accessory for Galaxy Prime
* Victory Saber is a pretty shit design: Star Saber gets some boots, some shoulder guns and a fuckhuge backpack, essentially. A Weaponizer would alleviate much of the flaws with the 80s design, but still allow people to use him that way if people chose to.
Basically, MP Star Saber is okay, but it's a very flawed toy. It's due for an update.
