yes. I often find myself unhappy with dolls' look. Wall eyes and paint being off or badly done can irk me easily. I started customizing because I started wanting dolls of certain characters, and a lot of them didn't have doll versions. I started doing it so I could have the right characters. This isn't my work, but it's one of the characters I want to make a doll of.

And well, I’ll actually give it to Tumblr, they did make her too skinny. Her proportions are really weird; her arms and legs are thick, but her torso is super tiny. Not that I care if they change it or not (they won’t it’s Mattel) but I’m not sure what they were trying to accomplish here. Live action Princess Jasmine could have looked like that, but instead we got this. Just about fucking had it. I don't think I'm going to be able to make it to live action black Ariel. They didn't even fluff up her hair or keep it in place, or try to make it look neat. During the magic carpet scene Aladdin's hair stays perfect from the start of the song until the end, meanwhile Jasmines hair looks like it's been through a dry cleaning machine.

Poor sweet little dead Gabrielle. She was too pure, and deaf for this world. I saw her for the first time on a black and white TV Guide page announcing the bran new CBS episode with her. I cut the page out, and taped it onto a blank VHS tape. I recorded the episode myself at the age of like 7 when it first aired. RIP

The reason that fashion dolls are so skinny comes down to two main factors; silhouette and articulation.
The layers of fabric on doll outfits add a significant amount of bulk especially on such a small scale, Barbie is as skinny as she is to retain a normal silhouette even when fully dressed.
And there is a limit to how thick a doll’s limbs can be before they hinder articulation, the thicker they are the less total range of motion they have. It’s why a lot of actually fat dolls have a cloth body, so they can still be posed somewhat.

So what's the current state of Polly Pocket? Last time I checked they redesigned the whole line with larger bodies and weird suction cup furniture. A lot of my clothes from the 2000s are deformed, discoloring, and cracking. As a child I always thought rubber clothes were nicer than fabric ones, so I'm somewhat mourning the loss.

Yep, that's an image from someone who spotted her. My Target is a mess right now, but the toy section manager said they should have all the new stuff out by the end of the week. Not sure If I'm going to buy her. Her face is too round, her body proportions make her look like a child not a 16 year old, and they somehow managed to cover up her midriff. Someone did an edit on how she should have looked like.

Only one, but I used to go to it almost every day for about a year, and found all kinds of stuff. Now I only go to it about twice a week. Never found what I was really hoping to find which was a King Triton or Vanessa doll. I did find a 2013 Ursula doll, than oddly enough about four days after finding her Disney store knocked the wind out of my sails by announced that they were re releasing her in 2018.

That's when everyone gets out of church and heads over to do their weekly grocery shopping. Even store employees have warned me to stay away after 12PM.
