I blindly threw down a preorder for a 1:1 Arc Reactor prop on BBTS, thinking I had until November to decide if I really wanted it, but it just came in today, and so now I'm stuck with a $300 glowing MCU nightlight.

How badly did I just fuck myself over? Also, 1:1 movie prop general thread.

That's just like the Hasbro Black Series Star Wars helmets, right?

I think it's pretty cool that they have so many relatively cheap cosplay/display-caliber helmet options for fans these days.

Sure as fuck beats having to decide between a $20 Halloween mask or a $500 fragile prop replica like when I was growing up.

Pfft, I'm not throwing a fit or blaming BBTS - my only problem is that the original estimated in stock date was "4th Quarter 2019", so I thought I had at least a few months to decide whether or not I really wanted it/could afford it - and given BBTS's record of getting stuff late I was expecting this to not actually arrive until, like, January or February, and in fact, I think this is THE first time I've ever had a preorder on BBTS come in earlier than expected rather than WAY later (and SO much sooner than expected to boot).

Anyway, it's not the end of the world and I don't even have the Reactor in hand yet, but I was wondering if anyone else has one of these and what they think of it.

Yeah. Comparable to the iron man and ant man helmets that are out as well.

I'm not usually into props, but punisher war machine is my weakness. Would love some 6 inch figs of them as well(Can't justify the hot toys)

Right? Back in the day, whenever I heard about a 1:1 prop coming out I knew it would be around $300 - $500 bucks.

Now you can get these hasbro helmets for like less $100, and they all usually end up on crazy discounts too.

I think I got the stormtrooper and Ant-man helmets for like less than $50.

Yeah, worst thing that happens is that I flip it on eBay and lose maybe $100 for being an idiot.

(But still, that's $100 of groceries or a quarter of a Hot Toy or 5 Legends/Black Series figures, but if that's the worst financial mishap I suffer this year, I'll be happy.)
