I am always surprised by how many different ideas were already executed rather well but just aren't really talked about aside from offhand mentions on the chans or encyclopedic sites. There is no need to watch anything made in 2013 or later and your writing will be better off for it as new media is all about forgetting what made the past work or even enjoyable.
