Quick question: has this particular backpack existed for long?

I mean, have you seen this particular model since years ago? Is there a way to know for sure?
I ask because my wife has one now, looks and smells new, and she claims she has had it for years, but was on a box and never used it before which is why it's mint.
I'm pretty sure she's not telling me the truth, but I don't wanna confront her not being 100% sure.
