As a person who was diagnosed in my late teens as borderline on the spectrum, and kind of stressed the fuck out about the revelation for months,
I’d advise you not put to much weight on its significance or let it define you, (especially if it’s not actually a formal diagnosis, as it’s easy to incorrectly self-diagnose), at the end of the day you’re still the same person you always were, now you just have a name and label to maybe fit certain parts of yourself under.
Also, frankly it’s a lot more common then most people think, and nothing say you have to advertise that fact about yourself if it’s non-obvious and you don’t want to.
If you want to do something productive/constructive with the possible revelation, I suggest looking up what other symptoms and common personality traits and dysfunctions (such as rigidity or poor passive/instinctual empathetic awareness) are associated with the condition and see reflect if any of them fit. If you do identify anything, you can now be more aware of it, and if you want to better address or mitigate some of those traits you can look up from other Autists online about what strategies work best for doing that.
