>>7714923Never seen wolverine sit on shelves. The original brown one was easy to find for a while because they produced so much Juggernaut wave, but other than that, all the wolverines sell on average much better than most X-Men figures, despite being 2 per case. There’s an argument to be made that Old Man Logan sat, but that’s because of the ridiculous amount of Warlock stock as well, and he didn’t sit worse than Polaris, or Dazzler.
Rogue, on the other hand, was hilariously easy to find. Why would a member of the Jim Lee team be so easy to grab, surely she’d be popular right? Sure, unless she’s the very first member to be released of said popular team. People didn’t expect them to make all 13 members of Blue and Gold (for some reason. I hoped otherwise.) so they didn’t grab her. She sat on shelves with reduced prices, same as all the other Juggernaut figures. It was Deadpool first, then wolverine that you couldn’t find. Then it quickly became Rogue, Phoenix, and Iceman were all about the same difficult to find. That being said, every figure in the wave except Wolverine got reduced to $9-12 dollars a piece because it was the first X-Men wave in some time and they produced so much stock.
Anyway, the point is, Rogue sat on both websites for $12, and in stores for $20, for six whole months, after three months of being $20. Then they clearanced the whole wave to make room for Warlock. Jim Lee Cyclops comes out, people come to their senses, and both him and Rogue shoot up in price.
Hasbro is all about the teams. Cyclops, this new Storm, both versions of Psylocke, even the blue Wolverine, none of them are sitting on shelves. People want the teams. Clearly there’s a lot more collectors now who missed out on Rogue. I doubt her rerelease will be double packed, but Gambit’s was. These days you’ve got Amazon, Pulse, Dorkside, Walgreens and GameStop too. It’s literally easier than ever to find figures. The scalping has just gotten more rampant.
