NECA really needs to make figures for DbD. At first I thought it was too niche for them, but even goodsmile is getting in on that DbD license, and plus the game has crossed over with Nightmare on Elm St, Halloween, Texas Chainsaw, Saw, Scream (sorta), and now Stranger Things.

I feel like it's not "too niche" anymore

The Funko POP Dracula coming to Walgreens this year. My Walgreens in the area are slow to get things in, but I'm keeping my eye out for it. Also kind of like the Ult. Sam by NECA. I might get it since I love his design.

Pumpkinhead merch., either by NECA and/or Funko. I just want more Pumpkinhead and Tall Man/Phantasm stuff.
Also I really wish Funko would release a Series 4 of their Horror Classics Mystery Mini line. They really dropped the ball on it the past few years after it being so successful. The Universal Monsters line is cool, but not enough imo.

Mostly 'cute' horror figures, like chibi and SD figurines. Only actual horror themed action figure I have is the Figma Red Pyramid.

So I know in the past NECA has said they can't do a Jack Torrance figure because of how ridiculously expensive Jack Nicholson's likeness rights are. That's why the only one we've gotten was a Hot Toys one. And Hot Toys announced they'll start doing 1/12th scale figures. I want a 1/12th Jack Torrance.

But whatever contract they had is most likely expired since that was awhile ago. I wonder if MAFEX would do one. I mean, they made Space Odyssey figures, and are coming out with Pennywise, would be cool if they keep up the Stephen King or Kubrick trend

What do people think of Mezco Jason and Michael Myers? Obviously Michael Myers is ridiculously expensive but Jason is still pretty affordable, worth picking up?

I own the One:12 Myers, and he's a cool figure, but I don't think he looks accurate to the movie, so if that's something that might bother you I wouldn't recommend it. Plus, even if he was movie accurate, he's pretty costly, even before his price inflated.

I don't own it, but I think their Jason looks cool, and he at least looks more accurate to the movie than their Myers did, but still a little stylized. If I remember the reviews correctly that's probably one of the most articulated Jasons you can get.

It definitely gets the idea of Michael Myers across, I don't mean to make it sound like they did a horrible job or anything, I like the figure, but to me it's just too... neat, or even? Does that make sense? Its too symmetrical and I think some of the features could have been exaggerated more. Because they didn't do that, it gives just takes away from that 1978 Michael look.

You talking about this Mezco Hobo Myers figure? My friends and I were getting the money to buy the prototype off ebay and were planning on doing recasts on it, but it sold out before we could do it.

Okay, so I'm relatively new to toy collecting and almost everything I have is 6-inch-ish stuff (Black Series, Marvel Legends, Figuarts, etc).

I'm thinking about putting together a little Halloween display, and I'm wondering what 6-inch figures everyone else thinks would be essential for such a thing (feel free to recommend NECA stuff - I haven't bought any of their horror figures yet, but I'm assuming a 7-inch scale Jason or Freddie won't have too hard a time mixing in with everything else I've got once I take the Halloween display down).

An asymmetrical horror video game. In a nutshell, one person plays as the killer, 4 people play as survivors. The killers have to kill/hook the survivors, the survivors have to try and escape. There's lots of cool original monster designs that would fit well with NECAs other horror figures.

It's the only game where you can play as Ash Williams being chased by Leatherface in Michael Myer's neighborhood, or Laurie Strode being chased by Freddy Kreuger in Jigsaw's warehouse.

Any of NECA's horror ultimates are good a choice really, I think it really just depends on what you prefer. I don't know if all of them will fit well in 6 inch scale though. Big characters like Jason might since he's already supposed to be big. And their Ash from Ash vs Evil dead might fit well too since they made him pretty small for that scale. Their ultimate Chucky isn't to scale even for 7" but he's a small figure that's meant to be fudged in other scales. I recommend that guy, he's great.

For 6inch scale though, there's any horror figure that's a part of Mezco's One:12 line, but in my opinion those are overpriced and I know the cloth thing isnt for everyone

ALTHOUGH I will say, even if cloth isnt your thing, the Mezco One:12 Frankenstein looks great. His articulation leaves a little to be desired but the character is supposed to be all stiff so I guess it works. And I guess since universal monsters apparently dont sell well you can still get him for a good price. Frankenstein gives me classic Halloween vibes.

These are really cool figures despite the rudimentary articulation. They were designed and sculpted by the legendary (and recently deceased) Yasushi Nirasawa, who also did many designs for iconic franchises like Devilman and Kamen Rider. These figures also come with a shitton of cool accessories and mini diorama elements.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of how cloth scales at 1:12, but as a Universal horror fan, I've had an eye on that Frankenstein for a while. I think I might pull the trigger on that one (A shame the Dawn of the Dead two-pack that Mezco released looks pretty clumsy, though - especially the blood and huge stitching on Flyboy's shirt).

I was thinking of at least grabbing NECA's Jason Lives Jason and Nightmare 3 Freddy, and maybe one of the Tim Curry Pennywise's.

And while Michael Myers is fine, weren't we supposed to be getting some Halloween III trick or treaters this year?

Hell yes, those trick or treaters are my most anticipated release. They're retro cloth figures, but the cloth looks good on them which is surprising because I despise how the cloth looks on all of the other retro styled figures from NECA

I like my nightmare 3 Freddy, but I personally like the part 1 and 2 better. Since the part 3 one has that really cool swappable chest piece, his torso ends up being too square. I think he looks a little awkward. The part 2 one I think is my favorite ultimate Freddy, and he comes with those dogs too. Check out rewviewspot's reviews, he's pretty good with NECA horror stuff

I was thinking of going Jason Lives and Nightmare 3 with Jason and Freddy just because those are my favorite films, but, yeah, I need to sit down and figure out which one actually looks the best to me - from what I saw on BBTS, the chest thing on Nightmare 3 Freddy *can* look a little doofy, but it wouldn't be the end of the world.

Screen accuracy fags are the worst. I never understood the argument, while the lighting (so, the color) changes from shot to shot, the actual color of the prop is one color, so it makes sense to go with that and make collector's light their displays according to their wishes. It's just like everyone that bitched about QMX Picard's uni being wine or Sideshow's Hoth Han Solo having a red coat. Pic related is blue according to Halloween fans.

My girlfriend and I exchange horror related gifts every year for Halloween, and I just recently found out there's an officially licensed Belial figure from Basket Case so I think I'll ask for that.
I'm not usually into stylized stuff but I like this but it's not like we're ever going to get anything screen accurate. Plus I like how it's an homage to those horror vinyl figures from Japan.

I owned the bootleg as well as the authentic one. The bootleg is fine, but if you have a chance to buy the real one, go for it. The joints were a tad loose on the KO and the belt had a weird seam line going down the middle of the front of the belt. The coat was pretty nice though, and mine had the extra thread issues as well. The KO did come with all the exclusive extras like the sword and horns.

Have you handled it? I was leery of the rubber torso too when the pics first hit, but having it in hand, it's pretty great. It allows for great range while not sacrificing the unified look of the torso, and it doesn't feel like that super-soft rubber that cracks and decays, so I'm hopeful that this stuff will hold out for a long time.

It's going to be single released of Hero Ash, and BoC Chucky for sure.

But.... is it possible it's an improved Ash? I got the ED2 2 pack, and that has such bullshit range of motion. He needs double jointed elbows. Those 40 degree single joints aren't going to cut it for a character that wields a chainsaw and shotgun. Their AvED Ash has perfect articulation for Ash. I want that for ED2.

Right now I think I technically have the full collection of these new ones because Blade's the only one produced so far. Got it for free at a convention, watta steal. These are the exact ones I use. I like them, the're the only ones I've ever used so I can't say if they are better than others, but these are at least good.

With Channel Zero dead it's my new favorite anthology horror out right now. Gray Matter was a little hokey but that last scene with the kid and Adrienne Barbeau both hamming it up in horror was fantastic. House of the Head was great too, such a goofy premise pulled off really well. I just wish they'd done more with the life size bit.

Also more on topic, I would slaughter millions for Channel Zero figures. I realize they would probably be a licensing nightmare but I need it.

I have a bunch of the bosses from the Toybiz line. They are pretty awesome but sadly cost an arm and a leg now. If you are looking for the Tyrant, be careful. The heart blood has dried up on the figures. I have one CIB and it's even all dried up in that. Still a awesome figure and he is huge. Like you guys, I would love more RE figures but I don't think it's going to happen. RE2 came and went and we basically got nothing out of it

Masks and costumes, both generic and licenced from costume companies, that can be sold in little sets or with generic figures that are either kitbashed from already existing figures, or make a whole new figure that can be easily reused in something.

These could be trick or treaters, party goers, or just victims for your other guys. They could even make a a small costume shop playset.

Some masks can get really creative, and would make great toys.

The thing is, DbD only paid the licenses holder for the mask, so they only have the rights to the mask and not Scream, the movie.
So because of this the Ghostface in DbD has no relation whatsoever to the movie. The Ghostface in DbD is an original character, that's why he has an original costume that looks nothing like the movie outside of the mask.

I highly doubt NECA would be willing to do the same thing, making their own original Ghostface design, since in the past they've stated they don't usually do original stuff. The only exception I can think of is their 100th edition predator. If they do a Ghostface figure it'd have to be with both movie rights and mask rights, which I'm not sure they're willing to do. Would be awesome though if they did.

I opened up the NECA 90's Pennywise... the first release. Holy moly... trying to switch the head out was nearly impossible. Never doing that again. Opened up a bunch of other NECA figures. So many stuck joints. I guess they'll never remedy that.

Yeah, Craven's estate appealed for the rights back two years in advance of the 35th anniversary, and New Line didn't make anything new to re-establish their ownership so the rights reverted. The series isn't dead but it likely means that merchandizing is gonna have to renegotiated and it may be another few years before we get a movie or anything substantial.

Ironically the best F13th figure isn't even Jason. NECA's ultimate Roy is hands down the most articulated, best paint apps, most accessories compared to ANY other jason that came before. Especially when you consider the price point

Except revoltechs and mezcos Jason, those probably came with more accessories, but still, I stand by my statement. NECAs ultimate Roy is the best F13th figure, which makes it that much painful it will be the last one for a long time.
